Samsung 60" LED TV; white SPOTS or CIRCLES in the screen. Step by step repair.

This is a Samsung model UN60JU7100F that shows bright white spots or small circles on the screen, especially when bright backgrounds are displayed on the screen.
This is a full step by step repair in which we disassemble the TV, replace all 16 backlight strips (8 left + 8 right), properly re-assemble the TV, and eliminate all the spots in the picture.
The problem is that the led backlight lens covers prematurely fall off one by one over time. Soon the TV will have multiple and noticeable small bright circles in the screen.
Replacing the backlight strips with the new lens covers returns the picture back to normal.
The part numbers for this particular Samsung model's backlight strips are BN96-34805A for the right and BN96-34806A for the left side. Substitute part numbers are BN96-39663A and BN96-39664A.

Crazy how they cut corners on the adhesive to retain the lenses. Repaired an LG a few years ago and it was the same thing. Picked up a free 2008 52" Samsung with ccfl backlights just the other day and replaced two caps and all is well. Only downside is they are awfully heavy for a 70 something year old man. lol

man - this is a good video, nice and detailed - love the step by step...i'm currently waiting on the gule to dry on just TWO of those lens covers. i'm hoping that's all it's gonna take. is it 100% necessary that those 3 little plugs line up with each led? any advice on side LED bleed? I have another 4k Samsung that's really nice, but the sides are bright. I tried to "massage" it and loosen the frame, but nothing really seemed to work. at least i can adjust the settings according.

If you glued the diffusers back on, you'd have to open it back up when others fall off.

Awesome work and I want to ask, when watching TV an out of nowhere I get a pop-up in the middle of the screen "AVI INPUT" no signal and I get this like once in awhile. What can it be...?

Robert, I have 2 Samsung, and 2 Vizio TV's that are all 15 years old and still working perfectly! I'm wanting to upgrade to 4K. Are these 2 brands still as good as the quality of these older ones? If not, what should I consider buying?

I hate hard to remove panels.They can and will break even if blown by a summer breeze.Also i hate whenever i have to go on the floor to unclip, like you did like im a car mechanic.Also i hate glued panels.What i recommend to any fellow professional repair man,is that at least have the customer sign a form where you dont assume any ressponsibility for broken panels.Also have them pay you in advance the cost of the replacement set in case the panel breaks during reassembly and you have to absorb the loss from your pocket.its what i do and trust me,my stress levels have gone lower.

Hey Robert just found your channel - this was interesting. Im trying to translate your repairs to a 2018 Samsung Q7 65" (QN65Q7FNAFXZA) with only 2 boards (Main & SMPS), and the BT/WiFi comms board. It has fiber optic cable to the OneConnect box... do you have any videos of these types of tvs? I found the service manual at Samsung's parts website. It has a section with a script to diagnose the main components for replacement, but Im struggling to read the "Engrish" it was written in...The TV works fine if ONLY TV is being watched. As soon as we went to Smart TV function, to watch, say Amazon Prime or whatever over the network cable connection, it goes into the dreaded No Source / boot loop. Does your course cover this?

@bigdog8882. They built that tv like Vizio does their cheap chit. Lol. Btw ? I ran into a huge curve model with this same issue. And a couple of other flat screens. It’s apparently a pretty big issue with those yrs of Samsung.

My Samsung has started flashing when plugged in. Doesn’t change when power button is pressed. It’s a black screen with flashing grey light. No sound/no picture. When pressing buttons on remote or TV, nothing happens. Is there a way to fix that or is it just done for?

You have to glue them back perfectly or the light will still bleed thru the screen. If on a few came off gluing would be best
