Samsung washing machine with error code DC this is a common fault which sometimes is mistaken for an imbalanced load but on European and UK models this is usually the door interlock that is become faulty or possibly the door pecker unit or maybe the hinges slightly dropped stopping the door pin from locating correctly.
The Doorlock on this Samsung Eco Bubble washing machine our part number for this is 18184 which is DA34-00026A. this lock fits all the models listed below:

Holey schmokes this was just as simple as you showed, if not simpler. You made my life so much better with this video, saved me hundreds if not a thousand of pounds and probably weeks of waiting either for repair or new washing machine. my wife got very impressed when i came home to the arrived part and fixed this in litteraly 2 minutes after having viewed this video a couple of times. As someone mentioned in the comments the emergency door release part can easily be attatched on the new part without taking the whole thing out, dont have to thread it if you fasten it right away, but great that you show it. also great you commented the difference between asian-american models and european models, i was wondering about that. Bought my part from a different vendor here in norway probably way more expensive, so i am sending my thanks, money for a pint well earned in the bar!

Great Video - saved me a lot of money by not having to get in an engineer - followed this video and did it in less than 10 minutes. just a note to say I didn't take the emergency lock off completely as I was careful with taking it off and putting it back on the lock and didnt need to disconnect it from the bottom - the most difficult part I found was putting the metal loop back on as I didn't want to break it.

This video is easy to understand for those 'not competent' with electrics. I bought the part for about £40 and set about fitting it. The only issue was replacing the wire band. I eventually found that starting with pushing in the band just above the top end of the concertina spring, then working in an anti-clockwise direction, nudging in bit-by-bit until the full circle is complete. By doing this it gives the spring a chance to stretch, and the bit-by-bit fitting takes a few minutes, but I found it worked with ease. The local guy here (Shoreditch, London) in the domestic appliance shop wanted £75 for labour charges!

This saved me a lot of hassle, as the washing machine broke down just before the Christmas and it would be near impossible to get anybody fix it for a reasonable price. I was able to find a suitable lock in a local parts store. Although the video and the description mentions the part number as DA34-00026A, for my machine it was DC34-00026A. Donated a beer, well deserved! Thanks!

Fast quick delivery got it in a day once ordered. It has done the job thanks for sharing this video. Mine has some slight differences. 1. There was no emergency release cable 2. The spring was located to the far left near the door hinge.

Thankyou so much! Saved money by watching this video! Took 15mins. Part was expensive but much cheaper than getting someone else to do it! We also didnt take out the safety tag and we just checked the bottom if it was still visible and it was so it was easier to leave it in and just switch out the lock.

Just want to express my gratitude for such a great video. I was so pleased to discover your content after being initially bamboozled by the wealth of US oriented internet content pointing towards a different problem associated with the same error code. My experience was similar to that of Smiler 71 - easier to install than your video indicated by leaving the emergency door release in situ. The most stressful thing was the poor service from Royal Mail. Posted 48 hour delivery Friday, received Wednesday.

Hi there, Hope you're doing well Thank you for all the video's you share with us, it helped me big time I watched your video about replacing the door rubber, however, after putting everything back a DC error keeps showing when I try to start a program. Everything is on it's place and the door closes well. I put clothes ans devided them well, yet it keeps showing. I tried starting it empty and the error code keeps showing on the display. I replaced the door lock and that didn't help. Can you please advise me? Thank you in advance ☺️

I have a red key on all the time. I changed the lock but it's still on. DC1 error pops up. Samsung Ecco bubble. When I turn on the washing, the door closes normally, but after the end of the wash, it does not open, only closes once and opens several times.

Hi! I always lurking between your videos, they are so educational. But now I need help if you may help me. I have a Siemens iq500 WM14Q340 washing machine and the door lock is clicking 3x and an error is popping up E35. I changed the door lock with a new one but still same error. I also checked the wiring too from the lock to the pcb connector, all 3 wireless are ok. The machine is completely dry, no leaks or any moisture. Is this door switch an electromagnetic switch or also a PTC one? I assume the electronic board is okay vos the door lock is clicking and the door is locked but the error is coming up and the machine stops to work. Any help I would really appreciate. Thenks

Everywhere else seems to think that "dc" means the load is unbalanced. Could this be true? Surely it can only know the load is unbalanced when the drum starts to move, but I get this error before the drum even tries to move.

with DC error code this is the most common problem on the Samsung washing machines, make sure you check that you'll model number is listed in the door lock description please use the search tool www.how-to-repair.com/help/search-page/?searchVal=samsung+door+lock&searchsubmit=go

i have done what you said regarding removing lock but after removing the two screws the lock is loose but will not push back into machine there seems to be a white metal case around it which is preventing the lock from pushing back into machine. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Thanks for the reply but I can't get the lock out after removing screws there seems to be something else stopping the lock to be able to push it back into machine. It seems to have a white case around the lock which is pushing against the corner of the washing machine preventing the lock from being pushed back. Thanks

The first thing I would make sure that it is connected correctly make sure the wiring harness going to the printed circuit board is in good condition you may have another component on the machine creating the short which could have blown the printed circuit board

My dumbass had exidentaly pulled on the emergency door opener. I thought the little tube was supposed to be put inside the emergency door opener. So, if you have pulled on the emergency door open thing, the error dC can occur since the door can not close whilst e.d.o. is in use. Hope it helps.
