Samsung French door refrigerator heater modification for icing issue.
Round 2
We got a few good years out of the original modifications made but the icing issue is back. Time for a better fix.
Original video:
• Samsung French Door Re...
heating wire:
Supco SH201, 18" 120vac 15W (wrapped around)
or
Supco SH205 13" 120vac 15W (ty wrapped)
wire taps are 14-18 gauge
temperature sensor:
over 10k ohm iced
less than 5k ohm hot water
main defrost heater ~120 ohm
(there is probably a thermo fuse along the way to consider as well)
longer Samsung clip drain evaporator
DA61-06796A
get Error Codes before powering down AC:
press and hold Fridge and Freezer for 8 sec
for an iced up condition, error code 25E will probably be stored
turn off cooling for servicing (and back on):
press and hold Freezer and Alarm to set to "0 FF"

I have a similar frig but my problem is the drain hole getting blocked by ice. I´ve seen the diy copper wire solution but my unit have a lamp for the defrost function and by that the wire solution doesent works. I was thinking on instal a mod like the one you show!

tapping into the brown and adding a heater is the fix for this issue

Won't work if your temp sensor is bad. Replace defrost sensor and temp sensor. Works almost every time. Secondary heater is not necessary.

Thanks for your technical information. I found that Amazon carries some special package for Samsung refrigerator. This is the on-going problems of Samsung, and a huge market for the repair technicians and the replacement parts as well.

@@timothyjoe1089 Like freemanhsu5896 says, these Samsung refrigerators have issues even with components working. The secondary heater is a needed addition to this fridge.
