Have water collecting underneath deli drawer? On Samsung made French door refrigerators there is a kit that will fix whatever the problem could be.
This kit comes with a heater clip, a couple of drain tube and some aluminum. Aluminum is not needed for unit built after 2013. This is a 2014 model so you will not see the insulation installed in this unit.

By the way, you can avoid ice build up if you keep the freezer temperature at 5 degrees Fahrenheit and fridge at 39. I replaced that clip and it was find for a few months but started leaking and ice build up all over again, but after I adjusted the temperatures, the problem was finally solved. it was such a simple solution and no one knew how to figure it out. I only wish that I knew that before and it would have saved myself a lot of aggravation. I hired a repairman who twice ripped me off, called customer service at Samsung who gave me worthless instructions, buying a clip and defrosting the fridge multiple times. Believe me a went through hell with a fridge that was only 4 years old. No one wants to give you a simple solution.

A month ago I noticed I had ice building up underneath the deli tray (which is below the two produce drawers). It seemed to coincide with me putting in a new water filter (that is located between the two produce drawers), so I pulled the water filter out. The frig doesn't need a water filter installed to use the in-door water dispenser so no big deal. But the ice re-occurred. So thanks to KZfaq, and DOUBLE thanks to you I order the metal part and undertook the repair/replacement that you show in this video. I'm VERY optimistic that I've solved the problems, especially because i had ice build up in that little drain where the metal piece hangs. Anyway, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Worked like a charm. There are other videos for similar repairs but they don't do the full repair that you've shown. Took me about 8 hours in total and most of that was defrost time. I was too impatient to do a real defrost and so I periodically blowdried the back panel.

In a hurry tip: After removing the shelves and drawers I set a portable space heater at 85 degrees F about 1 foot away from and facing the back panel. I do the same thing with an electric fan set on high and aimed at the evaporator cover. However I typically allow 12 hours and just plug the reefer back in assuming that it's fully thawed. That way I don't have to take off the back cover. But I like your 90 minutes better and will try that next time.

great job bearded one! very well explained and good video angles. folks at home - if you want to save some hassle, check the drain tubes first. If water comes gushing out, your problem could likely be solved. you can clean out the clog and reinstall the tube in less than 10 minutes AND you don't have to move all the stuff from the fridge, freezer, buy parts, defrost, etc.... just did one today like that as a matter of fact. These drain tubes clog ALL THE TIME.. IF you still have water issue after that, then you have to follow this pro's advice, or call him if you are in the area!

Thank you for the video! I found the ice under the deli drawer today while trying to figure out why the alarm continues to go off on my Samsung. It is driving one of my dogs crazy and is intermittent and has been happening for about a week. In the past when it did this, I unplugged it and it stopped but about every year or so, it does it again. This time unplugging it didn’t help at all and it is driving us all nuts. I cleaned out the ice and have just watched your video and will start by checking the drain tubes and then on to the inside piece. Thanks so much for such a clear video! great video - very helpful - thanks! My problem seemed to be rust in the tube that takes water from the fridge / the tube was blocked. As others have commented, I just cleaned the tubes / didn't replace them -it's a simple tube / funnel. Some suggested to start with the tubes from the back of the fridge and save the time of clearing out the fridge and opening up the back panel / replacing the metal clip. The most time consuming part of that process was clearing the food out of the fridge - the actual replacement of the metal clip only took a few minutes. I figured -why not replace a part that's a known problem. My Samsung branded fridge seems identical to the GE branded one in the video. The top screw holding the rail at the back of the fridge that the shelf brackets go into was covered by a plastic cap in mine that I had to remove to get to the screw - only difference I could see.

I finished the repair today-cleaned out the evaporator drain hole, replaced the crappy riveted metal tab with a better one like in the video, flushed some hot water down the drain with a syringe, and replaced the lower drain tubes. I wish I'd had a helper to verify the hot water i shot in there with my syringe actually came out the bottom! I also thought afterwards it might have been good to snake a flexible bristle brush down the hole to clean it out, but I'd already reassembled by then. I also sucked out all the accumulated water in the drip pan, then squirted some bleach/water in there, let it sit a bit, then sucked it back out, rinsed with plain water, and sucked it out again--just because the water down in there was nasty green. The other part I replaced today was the water reservoir assembly. I noted some ice buildup behind that, so I think maybe it's heater element had gone bad. All fixed now, so hopefully no more leaks or ice/water under the pullout drawer! Last thing I did was mount a portable water alarm behind the fridge with the sensor on the floor, so if anything starts leaking again, I'll know about it!

Great video! Thank you! We needed both fixes. We only replaced the clip inside the fridge and it still leaked. Found out that both drain hoses in the back were clogged. The hose narrows to small slits at the top and they get blocked with gunk. New drain hoses have a different design. Or I guess you can clean out slits on old drain hoses and reuse them but check to make sure they don’t get blocked again.

Thank you for the video, yes we have a Samsung French door refrigerator with freezer draw below and we have had the same problem with water entering the compartment due to the drain tube freezing. As you have shown the heater clip is not long enough to prevent freezing, The lower pipes were clear and were able to be used again, after a thorough cleaning, our heater tube has a more definite V shape and applying the new version took a bit of bending but we have it installed, now fingers crossed it does not happen again, It looks like a bad design fault on the behalf of SAMSUNG, also it was extremely noisy when first purchased and was fixed under warranty, so all in all never again with Samsung.

I just completed my repair on my GE fridge following the instructions described in this video. The part is a Samsung part but works on these GE fridges. I read a couple comments about using a hair dryer to help speed up the defrost. I would not recommend this. I used a hair dryer on low in one small area and the plastic started to crack behind the evaporator. I was lucky the crack was in a location I could cover up with duct tape. A $3 fix that would have cost hundreds if you had this serviced professionally.

Great video. Bought the repair kit off Amazon and installed the drain tubes. The heater sync clip was just slightly to long going into the drain so I had to cut off about 1/2 inch to get it to slide down. Mostly because my heater coil was bent slightly differently where the clip attached. It dipped in a big loop toward the drain hole so the clip had to push down further to fit. So after a little trim it went right in. Thanks again for the help.

Take out the shelves and place a fan inside the refrigerator blowing room temperature air over the evaporator cover. It will thaw enough for safe removal within an hour or two. No worrying about oveheating something and standing there holding a hair dryer. If you don't want to remove the back just do this overnight. Then plug it back in. You can leave everything as is in the freezer which will not thaw out in that amount of time. I put the refrigerator contents in a large ice chest during the thaw.

great work! thank you for the walk through. I have a Samsung 267 Series and every component is exactly the same on mine as on yours. I had icing around the evaporation coil. I suspect the icing was primarily because of a clogged drain tube. The ice ultimately interfered with the fan rotation as well as blocking the drain tube. Naturally the ice buildup will interfere with the efficiency of the defrost cycle in that insufficient melting will result. For now, I simply thawed the ice around the evap coil, blower fan, and unclogged the drain tubing that leads to the pan below. I'll run it for a few days to see if the ice returns.

Although my GE evaporator cover is mounted differently and trickier to remove due to plastic tabs, all else is similar and your video would’ve helped some years ago when I last replaced the heat probe. Rather than leave the fridge apart while waiting for the part to ship, I cut my own probe out of aluminum sheeting. It held up for a few years but needs help again. I’ve come to disdain anything Samsung. I’ve even found their brand of capacitors in other makes of electronic home devices to be basement quality. I appreciate your video; it will help me take repair steps in the proper order instead of guessing my way along, hit n’ miss, next time. My only critique is that you didn’t take the opportunity to clean the fins over the drip tray in the back/bottom. They were filthy and make the unit less efficient. I’ve also found the fan blades there usually need cleaning; uneven dirt accumulation on the blades make them spin out of balance also, increasing operation noise and shaft wear.

I have been a Whirlpool and GE customers for years and only got rid of my appliances only after they got old and outdated but were still in working conditions. Then I went and bought a Samsung fridge. It was find for the first 4 years, after that it was all down hill. They have many design flaws, which over time create a lot of headaches for the owner. I am never going to buy another Samsung product again. I will go back to the well known and proven brands.

Thank you! After watching the video and ordering the $25 kit from your link, I'm pretty sure I can do this. The service tech quoted $760 to do it, but were kind enough to offer a $200 discount. So $25 vs $550... not a difficult decision.

Thats a grossly overpriced estimate unless you have a multitude of symptoms.

@@SpiritCannon He wanted to replace the back panel, harnessing, and electronics, just in case there'd been some warping and moisture leakage. And he didn't even have the kit on him, despite it being in the appointment notes. This was a certified tech, and in the end, he seemed so embarrassed by me refusing the quote he didn't write up or charge for the home call. Fixed it ourselves pretty soon after and it's been fine ever since.

Thanks for the video. This will be the second time I do this fix. My questions is this - what are the extra three pieces of what looks like insulation for? I have seen them used. Thanks.

I am not going to rehash the details provided in the other reviews and in several very helpful you-tube videos. I did have a simple fix which did solve the problem in my case. When I removed the evap cover I was pleasantly surprised to find no icing. I went ahead and replaced the drainage tubes and the evap drain clip. Samsung A/S Assembly-Water Leakage N DA82-01415A has all the parts for less than $25.00 from Amazon. The plate behind the evap coil did not want to come off easily so I left it on rather than risk breaking something. Since icing was not my problem I wasn't too concerned about the insulating strips. What I did find was corrosion on the steel back of the evap cover. The cover has a flange on the bottom that directs condensation into the condensation drain. The flange had corroded to the point that condensation was leaking down the back of the refrig and into the compartment. That explained the rusty stains on the back of the refrig compartment. I cleaned the plate as best I could and dried it thoroughly with a hair dryer. Then I covered the corroded area with self adhesive aluminum tape, making sure to remake the flange. Be sure to press the tape down thoroughly. I did this 2 weeks ago and checked for moisture today. To my great relief the compartment is bone dry. Hope this helps.

A known permanent fox for this is installing a secondary aftermarket heating element to the copper pipes going to the cooler as well as replacing the drain hole heater clip as mentioned

I sure hope you leave this video up. My daughter thinks I cause the water build-up under the deli drawer. I just figured it was a blocked drain tube "somewhere". Maybe now I can get them to fix it. )

Just a note. They aren't always frozen up. I started at the external drain tubes and they were dirty. All the water came out and was back up in 20 minutes or so.

I have the same fridge as in your video and having the same me issue. Thank you so much for the detail n clear instructions. I have a question- can this issue also cause the ice maker to stop working? The ice maker stopped working a month before this issue started. We tried all tips for the ice maker, but none worked.
