Thanks for the video. Be careful while prying the battery as I punctured it with the little screwdriver accidentally and it caught fire immediately.

Great video. The most important trick is being patient while the rubbing alcohol soaks into the adhesive on the battery. I used a little suction cup to tug on the battery while gently prying around the edges as the alcohol softened the bond. Black screen of death is SOLVED!

Brilliant video. Screen repaired. Battery removal is by far the worst bit. The adhesive on mine was much stronger than shown in the video

Removing the rear cover takes a lot of time with some devices (i mean like an hour). So dont rush it! Great video btw

Using a heating pad it shouldn't take more than 10minutes, but watch out for the flex cables on the right and bottom attached to the O- bezel middle frame thingy- volume and wifi are important ...

It's also 10,000 times easier to just replace the lcd digitizer part- , and not the part that comes with a new frame attatched. 10000 times. Easier.

Hi quick question, the black circular component that comes with the new screen (bottom right of top motherboard section). Is that part needed? I ordered a display that didn't come with it, is it transferrable or should I go get a display that contains this component?

Hi, that's the vibrator. You can takeout the vibrator from your previous screen and add it to new screen.

I like this video except some moments, where an operator easy removed the battery. It's not so easy job to remove it on my phone: spent half a hour to do this and a lot of alcohol. 🙂Maybe my phone had extra strong glue. 🙂Very helpful video. Just found problem into my amazon ordered screen, There was missing important parts. Returned back and ordered new one. Thank you for sharing.

Quick question- when I opened up my phone the black plastic looking floppy part (seen in 1:58) broke off. Does anyone know what this part does and if I need to replace it? Phone seems to be working fine without it although screen is dim. I tried googling the number written on it with no luck.

I got my screen exchanged from a local shop and well the very next day…the screen is full of broken statics and discolouration too. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE TO GET A REPLACEMENT FROM A LOCAL SHOP. I am so sad that my parents’ money got wasted.

I wish I had discovered this a little sooner. I dropped my phone and the screen looked like modern art. None of the local shops had a replacement screen available (and they wanted $120 to $200 to replace it, which seemed like a lot) so, in desperation, I bought a new phone. Looks like I didn't have to! By the way, did the vocalist ever find Lola? 😂

Hi Tech Ninja, I have finished changing my screen and it was a success, but im having trouble when I type, each time I type, a second letter will come out as well, (i.e liike, succeess, proccesss ffrom ocuupation) is it because I installed something wrong or something was dirty that it's not making contact right? Everything is working fine, is just that little problem

Did you check the finger print sensor after repairing? I got my screen replaced yesterday from the authorized samsung service centre and the finger print sensor stopped working.

Hi, my fingerprint sensor was working fine. Your fingerprint sensor is not working because of recent security updates released by Samsung. The sensor needs recalibration after screen replacement. Service centre should be able to do that. Please check with them.

There are different types of after market screens,some are cheaper and for example,may not have a functioning finger sensor on the screen,even the better ones,that do have,I think aren't original from the manufacturer

Yes you can thats called refurbishing the screen and it is not worth doing. To much time consuming and low succes rate if you are jot highly skilled.

Yes, fingerprint is working fine after screen replacement as fingerprint sensor is under the screen, not in the screen. Hope that helps 👍

I didn't believe the videos on the non-responsive/black screen issues that massaging it would work, but now that I'm seeing the connectors, I'm believing that some firm pressure over those connectors will resolve my issue. I've been able to find temporary resolution by twisting the phone. Seeing the internals give me a better idea what might be wrong!

Hi, because of the recent software updates, after display replacement your fingerprint sensor may not work. So better go to samsung service centre for display replacement.
