I've had the S22 for about 4 months now and it's been such a good phone. Was very very hesitant about it over the plus but ended up getting the Regular one still. I get on average of 12-16 hr of battery before I need to charge it again. I don't play video games on it but I do alot of listening to music/social media/texting and phone calls. I'm also always using Google maps and watching videos on KZfaq soo you'll always see me on my phone. I was nervous coming from a iphone 13 hearing that the s22 battery life sucked.. but I promise you it's not as bad as everyone says it is. The phone is absolutely amazing. And after having iphone practically my whole life. I've gotten so used to Samsung and they are soo muxh more worth it then the standard iphone that stays the exact same every year. Trust me. The phone isn't as bad as everyone says it is. I use my phone every day. For countless hours.. & only 1 time have I seen it go to 1%.. I typically start off at 100% at 8am and by 2am the next day I still have 10-15% as I'm on the road alot and traveling.

I've got the Base S22 too. Battery life is not disappointing. It's a small phone, and you cannot expect it to last for 2 days. Nothing wrong with charging it a little bit during the day, OR...just put your phone aside and TALK to people for once! 😂

I had mine since launch. i quite agree on pretty much everything you said. For the battery departement I can last a day as i don't do heady stuff so much on my phone but if I do and drain my battery I do have a power bank in my bag so not really an issue. Its mainly about how you use the phone imo. If you are a really heay user better go with the plus or any other brand that you think is worth it

Aside from the size, it has a good camera for those quick shots and document scanning. Also good for on-the-go scrolling and glance e-mail and messaging apps check. My daily driver now and relagated my Note 20 Ultra as my secondary.

I might consider the S22+ instead. I've heard that gets much better battery life and doesn't overheat quite as much because of the bigger size. I'm so glad they're going back to flat screens. I really hate the curved edges on my S10. Makes the screen protector bubble up along the curve. I came really close to upgrading with a 1-year-old S21 Ultra since it's still a great phone by this year's standards, BUT I just can't stand the curved edge display. Thanks for your review.

I recently switched to s22 from iPhone 11 and I love the phone. Although the battery is a bit hard to get used to, but I bought a 30000mAh portable charger and I won't think about it any longer. I haven't had and android phone in years and I genuinely surprised just how good it is!

Gonna be using my PC for gaming and my phone for more phone things, definitely getting the s22+. Not too much of a heavy user. Hearing mixed reviews. Some love it some could like it better but no one is trashing it. Doing research the 22+'s battery seems to be alot better.

Honestly, S21 it is already good enough for me and not even the upcoming S23. Minor upgrade huge price difference.

I just got the s22 for 431$ refurbished and it's really good for what I paid. Before that I was trying to get my hands on a moto edge x30 for 420$ but it never arrived.

for now the S22 Snap D is only 600$ where i live... if you don't use your phone all day then it a great choice but i don't think the heating is that big of an issue for average user unless you always playing heavy game

I have the S22, honestly I think it's a great phone, camera is great, performance for me is great (I don't play much games, I mostly use it for YT, taking pictures and social media), I personally haven't had any issues with overheating, design and feel is GREAT, but it's such a shame it has such a poor battery performance, specially since it's not any Samsung phone, it is a flagship, I expect much more from an S series. Heck, even the new iPhone 13 it's killing it with its battery performance. Anyway, I still love it, I think its pros really win over the cons.

My current LG7 has a higher resolution and I can see the difference. At this price range the s22 should be QHD or at least somewhere in between. I have the same issue with the S22+. I'll probably be getting a Oneplus 10 pro or a Pixel 7 pro.

Pcs and phones, or any electronic in general are made to be able to withstand higher Temps, that stretch way beyond how hot this phone will ever get. And even if it did they all a failsafe to switch them off... so ppl reading this, don't let the "overheating issue" deter you from buying this amazing phone.

This is the only video on KZfaq that shows 100% my experience with the S22, I really like compact phones but coming from the S21 the S22 felt like a downgrade in de battery department and also get heat quicker shooting at 4K, I just returned the phone and get the S22+ and all the problems are gone, I just don't like to have a bigger phone but works perfectly fine

I need help. My s22 won't charge in my car but charges fine in the wall socket.. my other Samsung phone charge fine in my car so don't think my car is the problem. Has anyone with the s22 experience this? Big issue for me and for the first time am considering apple phone.

i want to change my S10+ to a smaller phone, but i have a hard time deciding between S22 and S21. honestly, camera and battery life are important to me since i take a lot of photos for my bookstagram page. i'm quite reluctant when it comes to the speed on S22 too because i'm playing car racing games on my phone and my S10+ never disappointed me on that. it always worked good. what are your thoughts on this?

If it weren't for the small battery I'd get this in a heartbeat. Maybe if they put bigger battery on S23 I'll consider getting a Samsung again

I really like the size but the battery is just horrible. If the S23 doesn't have a better battery performance I am switching to something else. I bought the Zenfone 9 as well for work and the battery was just night and day.

I've owned almost every Galaxy smart phone. I started with the Sidekick, remember that? The base model S22 shouldn't have called a S22. Galaxy changed it's phone lineup and I feel like I got took for a ride on this phone. My 22 minute ride to work would consistently us 15% of the battery. By 9AM it was under 50% with VERY LITTLE usage. I'd hate to see what this thing would do if I had to use it for a living. The speed and touch screen response is sub par having to touch an area several times do get a response. It may be time to consider a different phone brand...

Around how much better would you say is the S21 in terms of battery life and heating based on your experience? Those are by far the two biggest factors for me in choosing between both phones (in addition to their smaller size), and these are the only two small android phones they have available for me to choose from at work.

I came to the S22 from an S7 so I am easily and thoroughly impressed. I wish it were a little bigger but besides that it has been great with the battery and never once overheated after lots of shitty cod mobile lol

Good phone but i'm gonna say goodbye to it for a couple of reasons: - Serious lag between taking photos. - Updates non consistent because some got the UI 5.0 already and as usual i didn't in my country. - Samsung notes still fail to sync for some reason. - I bought an iPhone 11 128gb for my wife and found it to be much snappier navigating as my S22+ - I bought an official 45w Samsung charger and it literally charges my battery only 1 minute faster from 1% to 100% versus the regular fast charger. - Samsung/Googles privacy intrusion violations, ive been getting a lot of spam and phone calls (my phone number is private and only Google/Samsung has access to my sim card info) - Samsung/Google installs apps after an update without my permission - Samsung forces me to use Onedrive and installs it now and then again after i removed and disabled it.

The battery on the S22 isn't really that bad, so what if you have to charge it once a day. Ppl make a big deal about sot. Chargers are meant to CHARGE YOUR PHONE..

I don't belive these reviews criticizing the bad battery life. You aren't original in the first place. You just repeat what someone or everybody else has said about the battery. But you leave out the essential: This phone is NOT for the heavy users. If you are a regular user, who needs the phone for calliing, messaging, occasionally some instagram or facebook, this phone is more than enough for you.

A small phone is not meant for heavy users and that is obvious. I found the battery life of S22 no worse than S21. Also, Samsung S series phones can not be compared to the products of other android brands---they are undoubtedly far superior. Heavy users would chosee S22 plus or Ultra. But for people like me who want small phones, the performances of iphone 13 mini and Samsung S22 are very satisfactory

At this point wait for the S23 unless they don't really upgrade it from the S22...

C+? Are you kidding me? S22 is an amazing smartphone. Display is the best. Other phones give a lot but their display is harmful to eyes, as they put cheap Samsung amoled displays like oneplus does and Samsung puts the best displays in their phones!

All perfect except for battery and heating issue....

For me, the PWM is what kills this phone... The flickering is so intense that even during the video it can be seen. For comparison, It's 240Hz versus 600HZ on the iPhone 13. I really think Samsung should start to improve it.

The S22 is a great design. It looks and feels premium and the compact choice (new era compact). Sadly quite a few things were done badly and that ultimately makes it a harder buy than it should have been. These include poor battery life, Samsung needs to give us 4500mAh, the Xiaomi 12 has a much bigger battery, so it can be done. Needs a better display, QHD and proper LTPO 2.0 rather than the cheaper versions. Faster charging; having used OPPO's super-fast charging, Samsung needs to get their game on. Dump Exynos in Europe as this is a massive negative and the performance is inconsistent because of this. Need a 12GB option even if it costs a bit more. The cameras are solid but I wish the S22 and S22+ both had the 10X zoom and the Ultra was just a Note. The price is okay as it is in line with the competition. Needs far better thermal cooling and this means the SD8G1 is probably a waste of space, a Dimensity chip would have been cooler at the same performance metric. So I can see why this probably has not sold well as it is flawed. Cannot recommend to anyone and skip this and hope Samsung gets it right next year.

I ordered an s22 as a work phone since I got it for free for adding a line. I don’t wanna use my personal device and daily driver iPhone 13 Pro as a work phone cuz I use it all day hard and I don’t wanna ruin my battery before the 2 years when it’s paid off. Plus, drops and such. I’m fine with the battery not being great and stuff cuz it’s gonna serve one purpose.

The Xiaomi 12 also has SD8 Gen 1. It too has overheating and a 3 hour screen time. This could be a chip issue. That's why there is a SD 8+ Gen 1 which is probably the improvement from the previous version. Overheating that effects performance is a deal breaker considering the price of the phone. There are ways to improve battery life such as putting seldom used apps in Deep Sleep mode etc. On a good news, my S21FE also has serious overheating issues (bought it in May) but after 4 updates (latest being 27 July), the problem has improved. Given time and further updates, I think this S22 will get better. Cheers.

The ABSOLUTE biggest drawback of all the Samsung phones is the fingerprint sensor location. Under the glass this sensor is hard to use ergonomically, at the side it is much easier like the old S10 and the current ASUS Zenfone 9. Another advantage is that when / if you drop your phone and break the glass the fingerprint on the side will still work. Another benefit is that you can put a good glass protector on your phone and the fingerprint on the side still works really fast. The under glass fingerprint sensor has to go. Samsung please listen.

Bad battery performance. Serious Samsung mistake. Other year and same mistake...

I've had this phone for 2 days now. Ya, the battery does drain down QUICK. I charged it up to 100% & after 1.5hrs of KZfaq surfing it's down to 85%. I highly recommend the Anker 25watt charging brick ($19), it juices this lame battery up super quick! I'm usually always near a wall or 12volt outlet, so it's not a big deal to take literally 8min to bring it up to 100% Otherwise, so far, I love the S22. Perfect size! Battery smooth & quick. No overheating issues, but I'm not a gamer or a videographer. Update, 2 months later. Once in a while for no reason at all this phone's speakers produce a static sound. After doing some Google searches, I found that other are having the same problem, & it might have to do with air pressure changes. I did the 1st quick fix that was recommended & thankfully it's worked every time the damn static sound returns. ( Just open & close the SIM card tray.) So, come on Samsung, this is a flagship phone! It should have a GOOD battery & WORKING SPEAKERS! ( I should've bought the iPhone 😒)......

그래도 최신 플래그십이니 기본적인 것은 잘하겠지 했는데, 발열은 그렇다치고 순간순간 찍고싶은 장면을 캐치하려는데 카메라가 몇초씩 버벅이고 있으면 참으로 속이 타네요 ㅠ 2,3년전 폰보다 못한 느낌이라니 그렇게 업그레이드된 성능은 다 어디갔나 싶어요..
