@H4554N The S9 Ultra offers more flexible multi-tasking capabilities The screen looks better to me and it's bigger but the iPad pro also has a great screen. The speakers on the S9 Ultra are better in my opinion. Also, S9 Ultra has Samsung Dex which is similar to Windows Deskstop. I'm enjoying the user experience on the S9 Ultra more than iPad but there are some apps that still need to be optimized for tablets. watching KZfaq is fantastic on here. But some of the streaming apps like Kick and Twitch aren't as good.

I almost didn't buy the Tab s9 ultra because a lot of youtubers were saying it was way to big, I'm glad i didn't listen to them. The ultra is a beast, and a joy to watch movies and multitask, etc. I got a third party book cover that i can use on a desk, lap or my bed easily.

Oh, joyous discovery! As a seasoned customer, I just love how convenient and absolutely sensible it is for Samsung to ditch the whole charging brick tradition. Who needs those anyway? It's like they read my mind, thinking, "Why not make everyone's lives more exciting by forcing them to buy charging bricks separately? Such a brilliant touch of inconvenience, don't you think?

With the Tab S7+ I got the tablet with the keyboard case together. In retrospect, the S7+ keyboard cover was nothing special, no backlighting, and some teething issues. From the many reviews of the S9 Ultra and its keyboard case, you can see Samsung fixed those issues; and added backlighting. The main problem might be that if you're used to placing your tablets in an aftermarket protective case (one of those thick shockproof cases with a shoulder strap) the keyboard case might not be as useful to you. Unless you don't mind taking the tablet out of the aftermarket case when you need to type something or do work with the keyboard case. Slight hassle but doable. Overall, if you're in the market for a new laptop, and you have the choice between that and the S9 Ultra, the S9 Ultra is very tempting. A great portable office in combination with my S23 Ultra. Personally, I use the tablet along with my workstation PC. And they work very very well together.

I loooove mine. Had a lenovo yoga before this and flipped it around often and as a result the wires became frayed and i got the purple flickering constantly after 4 years. I was super super sad because it was 15.6 inches and i got used to the bigger screen. I looked at the surface but it was smaller and compared to the tab, the tab was better cost wise. It took a while to make the tablet work as a 2 in 1 but now that i have my system in place, it is a productivity machine. I have the keyboard and it is not quite a butterfly keyboard but compared to the thinkpad keyboard, it took some getting used to but im not mad. I can do patient charts, do studying, share screen with smart view as a modified screen extended for apps, and i can have multiple windows open when im on dex. Its been fantastic. I just hope that third party companies create a hovering keyboard case display thing like ipad because i like the samsung keyboard but the back is too floppy to use on my lap and all the other cases cant attach the keyboard with how theyre built.

Despite coming from iOS and always conceding the ecosystem point, I personally don't need to use anything that demands iOS Apps, and Android Apps have really never given me reason to look elsewhere. One question to anyone who has used s pen on S9/plus/ultra I got my S9 recently and noticed that when I draw long straight lines randomly the line breaks even though I don't tilt the pen or reduce pressure (reducing pressure too should just make it thin but not break). I don't have any magnetic cover or screen protector and have also tried resetting the s pen as suggested by Samsung support but no help. This is not observed as much when writing words when you intermittently lift the pen or when drawing curved lines like clouds etc. - is this normal, asking as I have never used tablet with stylus before and Samsung support has no clue apart from asking me to return (they don't even have replacement option)

My one caveat to you with that is bear in mind that many Android tablets don't provide long-term software support. So if you're buying an older premium tablet now, you may not get the future-proofing you were hoping for -- even at a discounted price. Samsung does now provide 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches. Pixel tablet only provides 3 years of OS updates, and I'm not sure about the Lenovo Tab Extreme (the jury may still be out ! 😅). For all three of those brands' 2023 offerings, understand that Android 14 (releasing very soon) will count as software update #1. I far prefer Andorid tablets (esp Samsung) to iPads, but two things I have to concede to Apple is the raw processing power of their chips (esp M1 & M2), as well as software-support longevity (iPads & iPhones typically receive 5 software updates).
@hgf44876
@hgf44876 9 ай бұрын
@@sharkfintech5893 yea, to me I've not had a noticeable issue with that. I had a Samsung note 9 untill last year and there were no problems. @@sharkfintech5893 I don't buy apply stuff. I like being able to just plug my device into a pc and transfer files etc without some licencing agreement thing popping up and getting in the way. @@firstlast-wm3li iPad OS is a lot less restrictive on the pros. The pro apps (Final Cut, logic) have arrived, audio latency and dev support on iPad is superior, imo. On top of that Apple Music provides lossless audio. Their file system needs an update though. I’m envious of android tablets for that, I could use the Samsung for multimedia, email/calendar and gaming but iPad OS just had a huge head start when it comes to large-screen apps with consistent support from the dev community. If you have a 12 month no interest with best buy or some other big retailer and your credit limit with them is enough, I would pick both the iPad and S9 Tab (whichever sizes) and see how you like each. That's what I just did. I'm comparing both as an android user. The biggest PRACTICAL difference that I tend to see between both is that the S9 Tab Ultra tends to be a better productivity and multitasking device, which I need for school. It's also better for big entertainment because of its aspect ratio. On the other hand, the iPad Pro 12.9 I think is a more practical size and the pen feels better in the hands because if it's weight. The anti-glare and view angles are also better on the iPad Pro. If you are a creative that likes to draw and do video/photo editing stuff, then you should heavily look into the iPad Pro since it has more flushed out and supported apps when it comes to those things (and more powerful processor). The common apps that everyone uses for social media and productivity are pretty much the same for both. If you're already in the Apple ecosystem you will likely be a little biased to stay on it since Apple puts up walls to stop interoperability between non-Apple devices (this is so dumb and partially why I have a love/hate relationship with them) .

It most def can. I use my Galaxy Tab S7+ more often than my MacBook Air. It's "faster", easier and more enjoyable to use in many ways, including some content creation and light-to-moderate productivity. DeX mode converts the Tab into essentially a "Linux light" laptop, and the S-pen can be very handy. The touchscreen OLED display & quad Dolby Atmos speakers are far superior for content consumption, the Webcam is better IMO, it has expandable storage (micro-SD card slot), and battery life is superior to the Mac as well. I mainly use the Mac to log into my company's Web portal, and MS Excel on the Mac blows the tablet Excel experience away.

I'm not due to upgrade yet so I won't be buying this one. I have the S8 Ultra. I don't play games or watch Netflix. I use my tablet mostly for work and take copious amounts of notes. The beauty of this for me is that it's the equivalent of an A4 page and that makes for a far better note-taking experience (for me anyway). I'm also left-handed so being able to move the toolbar in Samsung Notes to my phone is another huge advantage. This is because, as a leftie, I often hit some buttons, which I can't do when I've moved them all to my phone.

So which one is better, Samsung Tab S9 Ultra or Lenovo Tab Extreme?
@sharkfintech5893
@sharkfintech5893 9 ай бұрын
I would say that the Lenovo is the better value, while the S9 Ultra is an absolute beast that not only specs-out better, but is more versatile (e.g., DeX) and more enjoyable to use (which means you'll likely wind up using it more). So both are great, but arguably intended for slightly different audiences: One could say that the Samsung "does it all" (just short of a full Linux or Windows laptop), while the Lenovo might be more challenged in areas like content creation (due to the MediaTek SoC). One more thing to bear in mind: I'm not sure how many years of Android updates that Lenovo provides, but I'm guessing that it's maybe a couple years' worth at best, and Android 14 (releasing very soon) will already count as number one. The S9 series, OTOH, will receive 4 software updates, and 5 years of security patches. So yes, it's more $$, but it's also more future-proofed.

Although I would happily purchased the Samsung Flex Note, 17 inches unfolded! I don’t know if they are available now or if it was just a prototype, the bigger the screen the better imo. @@p.c.h.6721 You're very welcome. 🙂 I've had the Tab S7+ since Jan 2021, still love it, and use it far more than my aging MacBook Air. The only annoying thing is that it won't receive Android 14 -- Samsung only provided 3 software updates back then 🤬😩 You'll be in better shape in that regard with the S9 Ultra, since it'll receive OS updates through Android 17 (late 2026) and security patches for a year thereafter. And yes, upgrading to a current flagship (Tab S) tablet from an old iPad Air will feel like night & day 😆. I know this, because I still use an older iPad myself as my "backup" tablet (iPad Gen 5 /2017), but putting aside the facts that it's now "laggy" and won't receive iPadOS 17, the UI just seems so basic and a bit "cartoonish" compared to the Galaxy Tab experience.

My old IPad Air is not fast, is not great, but it works perfectly, now I’m forced to buy a new tablet knowing that it will only receive updates for a few more years ( I have a shaving machine that’s 10 years old and it works perfectly, just like my two cars, both are old but they run perfectly, same as my laundry machine, probably 15 years old and there it is, just like my microwaves, still going strong after 20+ years) I guess tech companies are more cheeky. Hopefully at some point Samsung will come up with a foldable laptop similar to the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold, or the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, if that happens I will buy it, I’m a trader so I spend my days looking at a screen and making trades, my eyesight gets tired from looking at my tiny IPad Air, so it’s time to upgrade, I guess I don’t have another option 🤣 Thanks for all the information and comments, now I don’t need to do any more research, I’ll buy the S9 Ultra knowing that I’m probably buying the best tablet on the market, and having a 14.6” screen will make a massive difference, I’m thankful for channels like this one where people can get very valuable information and consequently make informed decisions. 👍

Great basic but fair point. I still very much love my Galaxy Tab S7+, but I paid far less than full price for it plus the keyboard case. And I'm very glad I did, considering it _won't_ receive the Android 14 update. 🤬😫 And the same logic would have to apply for iPad Pros with their accessory "Magic" keyboards, plus the additional cost of the Apple Pencil. iPadOS has come a long way over the years, but it's still in many ways inferior to MacOS.

just recently got mine, its excellent, but there is some samsung bloatware, wish there was a native android only option. no real complaints so far. the tab is a great size, its certainly not too big. Apple is really missing a market here. and OLED is amazing for content

if you mean Apple is missing the "mobile movie watching device" market, I think their screens are fine enough for that. I'm pretty sure they will be switching to OLED soon, as mini LED has had some obv complaints. Samsung (by no fault of their own - looking at you Google) is missing the professional market by very wide margins.

@sharkfintech5893
@sharkfintech5893 9 ай бұрын
@chuck7415 Content consumption is not that great on iPads (even 11" and 13" Pros) due to their display aspect ratios, which result in massive black bars on the top & bottom of their screens. Samsung tablets are most def more enjoyable to use in that regard. Sammy (as well as Pixel Tablet & Lenovo Tab Extreme) also got it right with FFC placement -- the FFC is centered when the tablet is in Landscape mode (which is how most tablet owners use their tablets, the majority of the time).

@@Dr_b_ Samsung apps like Samsung Notes, PenUp, Secure Folder, SmartThings, and Samsung Flow can be very useful, and most def are NOT "bloatware". And FTR, the Samsung browser is superior to Chrome in a few ways. Perhaps try some of these apps before pre-judging them. If you still dislike them after that, you can always Un-install (delete) them ! Now, some Samsung users swear by Bixby, but I'll agree with you on that one -- I don't really see a use case for it for me (yet anyway). Bixby Routines might make more sense on a Galaxy phone, versus a tablet. 😁

As far as Photoshop/Photo Editing goes, one of the GREATEST features of my Tab S8 Ultra that no one talks about is the 'Second Screen' feature. SuperDisplay a $10 app works really great. The Tab S8 Ultra has basically replaced my Wacom Cintiq as my main Photoshop editing device. It's higher resolution, wireless, lighter, portable, and the S-Pen might be even better... Samsung's built-in 'Second Screen' works OK, but it used to work much better than it does now, I don't know what happened, but hopefully they will update it to work as good as SuperDisplay does. Plus, your files stay resident on your workstation and you don't have to copy files back and forth. I find that SuperDisplay works exactly the same wired or over WiFi. If there's a difference, I don't see any. As you mentioned, it's SO much better than Samsung's Second Screen. It's pretty crazy to me that Samsung definitely knows how much of a superior product SuperDisplay is and they could easily license the technology (like they do Wacom's EMR) or even purchase the company without even batting an eye, instead they ship a vastly inferior piece of software... Plus, the device is awesome all on its own... Literally blown away by how great it is! The S-Pen is fantastic and FREE in the box. You don't need to add a paper-like screen protector ($40) in addition to the $130 you'll pay extra for the Apple Pencil... I'm a 30+ year Professional Graphic Artist. When some say that there aren't Professional Visual Arts apps on android it's just really incorrect, because I use them everyday. Autodesk Sketchbook, Infinite Painter, Concepts, Krita are just a few of the apps available on the Google Play store... There are many more... Are there a few apps available on iPad that aren't on the Play store? Yes, of course, but a good carpenter never blames his tools, and with expertise and talent you can do anything and everything on android apps that you can do on iOS apps - NO DOUBT. If you're already entrenched in the Apple 'eco-system'... Then pay the extra $500 to $1500... Unfortunately, Samsung's trade-in's aren't great this year... Two years ago I got the 8GB RAM/256GB SSD Tab S7 Plus in Mystic Navy it was $356 from Samsung with a Tab S4 Trade-In I got off ebay for $175, they gave me $400 trade-in credit, so my total cost from Samsung for the Tab S7 Plus was $531. I had zero intention of upgrading. Samsung then offered me more than I paid for the S7+ in trade, for a 16GB/512GB Ultra. They also gave me $200 credit towards accesories. It was kinda of a no-brainer, plus the 4-year OS updates and 5-years of security updates for $517.59. I absolutely love the Ultra, and have no intention of upgrading, especially since Samsung will only give me $650 for the trade-in of my Ultra and the total cost will be $750 for the 16GB/1TB version... Maybe next time, Sammy...

I got the S8 Ultra last year and it was just too big even for my large hands so I returned it for the "+" model and love it. So I opted for the S9+ variant this year and will stick with this size with every upgrade. The beige was a sickly looking color and I returned it for the graphite color. It sucks that Samsung moved the camera and magnetic strip for the pen just enough that my covers from S7+ to S8+ no longer fit and the keyboard gives an error and doesn't work like it should and prices for a new one are INSANE. If I have any issue with the tablet is that the bezel is "too small" (not really), but, when holding it, if your finger overlaps the edge by a millimeter, it is detected and any gestures you perform on the screen are seen as two fingers. Otherwise, I like it as much as any previous Tab tablet.

It could be said that for certain types of situations, the size and proportions of the iPad Pro are more useful. For instance, if you want to use a tablet for reading sheet music as a musician, the narrower width of the Samsung is less ideal than the iPad Pro 12.9". I finally got a good comparison view here at 05:37. I'd argue that certain other applications might not be able to make optimum use of the elongated proportions of the Galaxy.

Even Samsung sells this as a device to watch content on, and most non-techie buyers will do that. The iPad Pros are for power users due to their massive performance advantage and better and more pro apps. Along with, of course, its better aspect ratio.
