im Going to try this phone. I know the navigation chip on the phone is excellent and is better than most cell phone gps chips and some stand along navigation units.

The Symbian version will be known as the i8910 HD. It's probable that a WM version will come out and be known as the Omnia HD.

I'm on a month-to-month waiting for this phone to hit my city. Whatever carrier pimps it, I'm game.

it's not glossy when you're using the phone, if you like touch the screen and so on! Only if it's shut off, and the light gets in touch with the screen...

Ya, so I make it clear I am referring to F488, for I simply won't consider Samsung again in the meantime, so I didn't do much research on Omnia. And I don't use google calender, I am using the iCal that built into mac OS, which at this state still not fully compatible with google calender, plus my mac is just right here, I don't like the idea that have the mac sync with google and then have the phone sync with google again while I know I can sync via bluetooth with just 1 click

AMOLED is a technology where each individual pixel lights up on it's own, as opposed to TFT screens, where the pixels are lit up together by a single light source. This is LCD tech. Capacitive is touchscreen tech, where the electrons from your finger manoeuvre the touchscreen, as opposed to resistive, which sensed pressure. Capacitive offers better sensitivity.

I bet it's really exspensive, cuz it's a new phone, I've the touchwiz, which got ou this January, here in Norway, and it's still quite exspensive!

Capacitive screens need glass; I imagine you could apply an anti-glare coat, but it's still going to be somewhat reflective.

The HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Fuze, and HTC Touch Pro are all really nice phones. They are the best Windows Mobile phones. I love my HTC Fuze (AT&T). The only bad thing about them is that they are just a little bulky, but its not bad.

I thought it was because as of now windows 6.1 is unable to be on phones with a higher resolution than the touch hd (which isn't really hd resolution, its just very high). Hence they are waiting for windows 6.5 to release a phone with hd technology.

I don't like the N97 because it does not have a capacitive touch screen. I do not want to use a stylus. You mention the F488, but that is totally different than this model. Don't both phones (the n97 and the omnia HD) support google sync with google calendar?

multi touch is just a question of software tweaking when it has capacitive

who did this come out for in the US? also I really like it except the fact that their isnt a slid-out keyboard. All touch phones suck at using an on-screen touch keyboard expect the iPhone, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Fuze, and HTC Touch Pro

so how good is battery life in on this phone??? especially if ur watching hd videos on it

i love NOKIA i always had Nokia, and will have but i have a Samsung OMNIA to, great phone.

audio recording during video capture is low plus HD recording encounters frame skip which is frustrating, cuz it gives light jerks during playback. For the camera Pixon is the best(beats all nokia).

Sounds like you should get an iphone then :D I have to admit, I would get the 3G S myself if they had an unlocked version right away, but I do not want to wait. I just ordered the Omnia HD..I hope I don't regret it! I have been an HTC\Windows mobile user for years but I am tired of the lag. Good luck to you and thanks for your input.

you can always buy one for it, but generally this phone doesn't need a stylus, works differently then phones such as HTC and so forth :)

This is going to be my next phone! Technical features are much better than iPhone haves, just hope that OS works as good as iphones does. It seems to be good! Does anyone have release date and price for Europe?

The ones i would suggest are: Iphone 3gs Htc hero Htc magic-because its really cheap but its an excellent phone Blackberry Storm 2 Palm Pre and finally the samsung satio hope this helped,i am getting the htc magic soon, i would recommend the Apple Iphone 3gs personally

@maidijr the N9000 mite have a Capacitive screen in year 2020 but I think I did read the the Nokia N900 does have Resistive Technology but then again I could be wrong. Ino the Nokia N97 has Resistive? =)

I have never been so happy with any other phone than this. I have owned alot of phones but they are nothing compared to this. I have tested Iphone, maybe the worst phone in my mind for my needs. This omnia hd is worth its price, perfect camera and usability.

Hardware on this phone is great. DivX/XviD support is really useful. But S60 is absolutely obsolete and S60v5 is a huge stepdown from S60v3 in terms of variety of apps.

I owned one of these and although the camera was pretty good, and the screen, delicious the OS, specifically Samsung's lack of ANY support for it made it grim.. Replaced with a Nokia N8, which was excellent for its time.

There some issues with this phone...i bought it the other day ...and i realized that the 3d menu or whatever its called was deactivated in the final version....generaly the phone rox....but daaamn at least samsung give us the applications u r advertising in MWC 2009 :S

The sound when recording in HD is just horrible, the reason why: they use the low-quality AMR Narrow Band codec at 8000Hz 16 bit 2 channel 12.8 Kbps bit rate. They said it's not to stress the ARM CPU too heavily when recording HD video.
