Details:
Samsung i8910 HD (also known as Omnia HD) is a multimedia smartphone manufactured by Samsung, first announced at MWC 2009 on February 18, 2009. The device is most noted for being the first phone capable of playing and recording 720p HD video.
The HD comes in two versions: with 8 or 16 GB of integrated storage, both having a hot-swappable microSD card slot handling up to 32 GB. This handset comes with a 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (instead of Resistive), capable of displaying up to 16 million colors
It has an 8-megapixel camera with the industry-first 720p HD video recording at 24 frame/s. Other imaging assets include geotagging, face detection, smile detection and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) setting. The i8910 HD runs on Symbian (on Symbian s60 5th edition), with Samsung's TouchWiz interface
The device offers Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a standard microUSB port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and TV-out. A GPS receiver with S-GPS+Xtragps is included, along with the optional Samsung Mobile Navigator by Route 66.

This was my dream phone. But I couldn't afford it at that time so, all I could do was look at pictures of it. I remember reading every article I can find about it. 😅

this was an excellent phone that only had one HUGE issue at the time, and it was that it wasn't from Nokia but still ran symbian S60. issue wasn't really the operating system itself, but the fact that best apps for it were either made by or for nokia phones specifically. for example you had to download modded version of nokia's ovi maps (old name for their here maps) but there was also few ui issues that could only be fixed with custom roms, and this phone was the first one that i ever installed custom roms into. things that were missing from it but was added into those custom roms were. kinetic scrolling, multi touch and maybe the most important to me it removed that stupid .sis installer file signing enforcing. this meant that you no longer needed to send your .sis files to some site to be sign into your imei. a process that took anywhere from 2 to 24 hours. with custom rom this phone was great and the screen was gorgeous for it's time. edit: after watching this video bit further, i spotted that you also have modded your phone as well.

That's for sure. The worst device I ever had to deal with was iPhone One. The same goes with other iPhones untill they released iPhone Plus which was superb. And still I hate Apple platforms. Always used Samsungs starting with the Galaxy S2. Awesome phones. But I don't like their new S20 models. They are more like iPhones now. There's not much choice though at the moment. There's only Huawei who competes with their folding screens. Sony and LG phones are lagging behind. Chinese are still behind in terms of quality in my opinion, although in terms of price/quality/specs ratios they are probably at the top. Sony is also doing well in mirrorless cameras nowadays. Yet I'm overall disappointed in Sony, except for their professional audio department (stuff like like the PCM D100, etc.). And I still prefer Canon and Nikon DSLRs.

And you know what camera on an iPhone One was. It was worse than on ancient non-smartphones. Far worse! That's of course no longer the case. Cameras are more or less similar nowadays in all phones (except for cheap junk) but I hate Apple platform more than anything in life, especially I hate to help people out when they buy MacBooks and iPhones and then ask me for help. Everyone around is only with iPhones. It's a crazy world.

Watching this on S23 Ultra feels weird... Crazy that the edge app thing they "introduced" with the first edge device and still present on this phone was a thing all the way back in Omnia. I never owned this thing, but I remember arguing with somebody about it, because I was eyeballing Nokia N900 and he said it's terrible compared to Omnia HD and he would get one. Both were... Not great. 😂

Occasionally, I will get out my old Cellphones and Smartphones and give them a quick cleaning and charging. They all still work, but one Motorola Razr that needs a new battery. I've never owned a Samsung Cellphone or Smartphone I'm sorry to say.

What could you do with 256mb ram? Is it 256mb free? Cause on my phone only the os itself takes 1giga. Also was there an app store?
@waqarmasood8496

There was no "Ovi Store" like on earlier Nokia devices but there was Samsung Fun Club which is a store from Samsung that let's you download images, videos, games, apps, ringtones, music ecectra. Now the servers of Samsung fun Club are off of course but Nokia Maps on this phone still works and on my Nokia phone it still works too! 256 MB was considered a "Huge amount" of storage back then. Yes it required more storage for people to use this phone but that was a decade in which people inserted Micro SD-Cards straight when purchasing the device.

I got this phone almost 13 years ago and I HATED it. The OS was lame and everything seemed outdated compared to the iPhone. I kept this phone for nearly 3 years before replacing it with a Samsung S3 and god it was day and night. I don't miss Omnia a bid. The camera was good though.

I wanted to buy this phone back in 2009 but ended up buying the Galaxy S2 in 2011. Never was a fan of Symbian and it was one of the reasons I eschewed it (I didn't hate Symbian but I did hate Nokia). This Omnia HD was the best phone in 2009 in my opinion, and it was the first phone after which I didn't consider old style phones as a primary phone choice any longer. After the Omina HD i8910 I started to respect Samsung and pay close attention to their new flagship models as an excellent choice. Never looked back ever since. That said, I hate how nowadays Samsung is ripping me off with the Galaxy Fold. I'm already looking elsewhere but there's not much competition as of now. Huawei and Sony are still not up to the mark in my opinion. But I'll gladly leave Samsung if competitors start to have an edge over Samsung. I'm unimpressed with their Galaxies S20 and the new Note 10 Plus because they are regurgitating the same-form factors leaving me with no options when it comes to extra big phones and in that way Samsung looks a bit complacent to me. Hopefully, they will come up with a lot more folding phones in the near future. If they fail to do so, others will take over one day. The days of having to lug around non-folding tablets are numbered. Just an opinion, though.

You're correct! I think they produce some High quality smartphones. But their feature phones used to lack in terms of quality specs if compared to Nokia feature phones. E.G Nokia N95 VS Samsung Sgh-U600 Cons of Samsung: Less battery (600 Milliamp hr), terrible for that time but still not that far behind in last time. A "Heavy" user interface, this ias the only one reason that makes me not buy a samsung phone that much. Worse Camera (3.2 MP compared to 5 MP)

@@waqarmasood8496 Yeah, the N95 was a great phone. Never bought it though because I overall hate Nokia as well as Apple, Seiko, Rolex, and vinyl records. It's a way to fleece sheeple who know nothing about technology and even about science. Such people never ever know the diff. with one bit and one byte. Sometimes they don't even know the difference between the sun and the moon or between astrology and astronomy. It's crazy!

I mean back in the day a lot of awesome tech was emerging fast. Very high quality cameras on Sony phones, very power MP3 players (Sony Walkman phones), PDA were improving with more programs/apps and bigger screens, etc. Yet sheeple just bought Nokia, like the buy only Apple now. We live in the world of fools!

No, it doesn't have enough power. Only 600 Megahertz. Pubg mobile requires 1.4 Gigahertz of power atleast coupled with a decent chip. This phone has a TI Omap chip which is not decent enough for today's standards.

I had this phone when it was first released. I absolutely hated the thing, it was just a terrible phone to use. The camera and screen were superb, for the time, but it was let down by an awful operating system (Symbian) and a lack of third party apps. Less than a year after purchasing it I sold it and bought the newly released iPhone 4, which was light years ahead of the i8910 in terms of user experience and app support.

No not really. The i8910 was just an awful phone. The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 were superb phones and far superior in almost every possible way. iOS was always light years ahead of Symbian in terms of ease of use, functionality, stability and app support.

That's funny we almost wrote the same comment about this phone haha. @Waqar Masood not every phone was like this compared to iPhone and later the galaxy it was clearly outdated. The Omina was brand new and it felt like the phone was already outdated.
