Thanks for the information. I decided to go with the Q90r soundbar. I have a perfectly squared room and it works great. I did not want to deal with so many wires. I don't regret it. The q90r expensive but well worth it. I feel I'm in the movies...

Very nice! It's a great soundbar even if it wasn't my final choice for my living room. I totally get the not wanting wires. It makes me wonder what the new 9.1.4 system by Samsung will be like! Glad I was able to help ya! Enjoy your Q90r! Cheers!

Very good review Martin! The Q90R sounded more powerful compared to the Nakimachi. That front bar is overwhelmingly loud. The atmos sounded great! I get my Nakimachi Monday and going to see how it sounds. I bought it through Amazon so I have 30 days to return it. I’m considering changing it only because of the Nakimachi software being a pain. lol Wondering if you will do the Sonos Arc next? Could you possible borrow it lol Anyway Martin thanks for another review. Keep it going bro ✌🏽🤟🏽👌🏽👍🏽🤙🏽🙌🏽

Lol gotta put the reviews on pause as they are getting expensive unless one of my friends picks up the ARC and or magically I end up with a ton of money. I considered getting one but the price point is just bad and allot for just a bar. Lol the Nakamichi software may work better with your tv and you may not have as many hiccups. Samsungs Tizen is what is causing most of my headaches. Before giving up on Nakamichi try it out and see if it works for you.

What's your opinion on the LG SN11RG do you think is better than this samsung I am deciding between the two but I read a lots of problem with the Samsung wofer and rears disconnecting and popping sounds. Thanks
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 4 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you for stopping by my channel! . So it's my personal opinion that the LG SN11RG and almost all LG Atmos based speakers focus more on sound definition from the front bar and allot less on the rear speakers. On the subject of LG they are not as focused on atmospheric sound signature and more the Sonic boom. Although the Samsung also does this it does not rely entirely on the front speakers while the rears take a back seat like in most of the LG systems I have heard. Just imo though so take it with a grain of salt. I have not spent as much time with the unit like I have my other reviews. You could always try it out and if you don't like it then return it and grab the Samsung. Either way you don't lose and you know what you prefer. I personally find the Samsung to be a better choice for most but I'll let you decide :). As for the issues you are talking about people are cranking the woofer and blowing it out. It's a 8 inch driver so it can't take too much abuse and if you over do it it can buckle. The rears disconnecting can be any number of things and I will list them.... 1. The system is too close to the WI fi router and they run on the same frequency. So in order to offset that you have to change your WI fi frequency in the router settings. 2. I have not experienced popping on either the rears or the woofer. However I have heard that people on older firmware and who do not update their system do experience that issue. Also popping can happen if you blow the speakers or the woofer because obviously the speakers are toasted. You would have the abuse the heck out of them though for that happen. 3. On the note of the above the original firmware before the latest update is terrible. The rears disconnect a ton more frequently as does the sub. 4. You have to understand that running things wireless comes with a cost from time to time. The speakers are processing atmos and or decoding whatever you throw at them. It's my personal opinion that when they have issues it's because the technology is trying to keep up or catch up with whatever your doing. Considering what they can accomplish if you have the odd issue I don't see the big deal but personally so far I've had Zero issues with my testing. 5. The speakers are too far away. Although you cam technically put them anywhere behind you the speakers are connecting wireless to the sound bar. Move them too far from the main unit and you will see issues. Samsung recommends a certain distance on their manual because they know results will vary. 6. If speakers are not calibrated to the proper levels and tweak the living you know what out of them your sound signature will be off and the levels won't match up possibly putting more strain on other channels. I'd recfomend the purchase of a Atmos Demo Disk or I'd you can find digital atmos files put em on a USB and use that to test. Uncalibrated speakers just pumping out sound at Sonic boom could potentially compromise the system in various ways. 8. People may be trying to get Atmos but their TV won't pass Atmos through it. So then they get what the TV thinks is the sound format you are using instead of perhaps the proper one. So you may get Dolby Digital Plus on some tv's as opposed to Atmos. And so if your trying to force Atmos the signals will be mismatched and the speakers will struggle to properly play content. Those are my best guesses. I'm not going to try and sway you for Samsung or LG. One may be better for your set up then the other one after all. Cheers and I wish you luck. If you have any further questions I will do my best to answer them 👌

Just an info, i read that the TV in this video is a q9fn and i have q90r, now i want to buy the q90r soundbar but my question is: for the future ps5 the only way for setup is the hdmi port4, for this soundbar for the earc i can put the hdmi cable in the other 3 hdmi port? Thanks
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the soundbar needs to be plugged into whichever port is ARC labeled or it won't work properly. This is because the Soundbar is being detected using HDMI which requires ARC detection built into the port in question on the tv. If you plug the soundbar into a non arc port you will get no sound but you will get video. Now as for Earc it's the same. Earc needs to be enabled on the port in question and then the gaming console needs to support earc output. At the present moment nothing I know of is using Earc yet. As it is a relatively new format and more advanced there is no guarantee even the Ps5 will take advantage of it. Your stuck with whatever port is used for Arc though and then your tv either needs to process the rest or you can't make use of the other port to get full atmos.

I don't get the wireless speaker advantage. Don't you still have to power them. So you still need wires. And don't you need power points nearby. Surely it's easier to run speaker cables than long power cables.
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 3 жыл бұрын
The advantage is in space saved. The rear speaker cables are not very long and they tuck in and under the speakers nicely. Although technically not "wireless" they do save time and space. The drawback is that they don't give the same "clarity of sound" as a full on av system.

That being said there is a lot of negative reviews about the rear speakers 🔊 The Q90R rates lower than the Nakamichi
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 4 жыл бұрын
Its because they want the rear speakers to be louder but they don't properly set the levels so then the sound is off. There is nothing wrong with the rears on the Q90r but you can increase the volume level of the rears in the Nakamichi which i just learned recently and despite that I never use. The main difference is that the Q90rs rear speakers only kick in when needed whereas the Nakamichi relies more heavily on the rears and uses them pretty much 100% of the time. Louder Rears doesn't make a better system. A Properly calibrated system can put louder rears to shame and that includes the Nakamichi. non calibrated rear speakers with volume cranked vs calibrated speakers and the calibrated ones shine through every time. If you dont take the time to properly tune the Q90r its just a bunch of loud noise. Whereas when you tune it its still loud noise but each and every sound has definition.
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 4 жыл бұрын
In fact during my ps4 part of the review during combat all that background noise with the characters behind me attacking are so loud. So again the complaint about the rears is unjustified. It also is likely because they didn't set them up correctly. Just that mess up can ruin your entire experience.

@nosystemisperfect9954

Hey I'm way late for this and I appologize for that. So if you don't mind being limited to 60hz hdr then there is nothing wrong with the current tv if you still have it all these four months later. Now the tv's that do the full 120hz hdr are limited even now. Most games run in 60hz hdr though with very few supporting 120hz. What it comes down to is How future proofed do you want to be? If you want an absolute future proof for PS5 or Series X then the LG C1 will be your go to but if you don't care then the Q90r is just fine. Keep in mind thag your hdr brightness and sdr brightness will significantly drop with Oled panels. If you still prefer a Samsung then you can always grab the Qn90a but if you live in the US or Canada for example then you only get a single hdmi 2.1 port. So you have options. I personally think your current tv is more then good enough but I'll let you be the judge. Sorry again for the late reply and I hope I was still able to help a li'l bit.

@nosystemisperfect9954

It is my personal opinion that for bass the JBL is better but for overall immersion and sound quality the Q90 easily wins. The JBL isn't bad but it won't wow you the way the Q90 will when set up and calibrated properly. If you want crash bang boom then JBL is a good choice but if you want a better well rounded sound Q90r is way better I think. Cheers!

Ive owned the jbl 9.1 and returned it for a n open box q90r. The 9.1 has a way better subwoofer, like 2x as loud and a lot deeper but the muffled clarity and fullness of voices is why I returned the jbl. The Samsung is atleast 3 times better with all sounds. Also the Jbl rear surrounds batteries will eventually die and the whole speaker has to be replaced.

dont you find the apple tv down scales the volume ? tv and xbox sound more immersive
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 3 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting question. I think it's because the Apple TV primarily runs in PCM unless a Dolby Digital signal or Dolby Atmos is detected. In this regard Apple TV also tends to use a compressed version of atmos. If you want proper atmos using a blu ray player that supports it may be a better choice. It's iffy though. I found the PCM content to be very weak in the Q90r unless you crank the volume up. Dolby digital or Dolby atmos however fair much better As I didn't have a Dts x or dts system when testing this system I'm not sure how that sounds but I'm sure it would sound pretty good. Another thing you can try is turning the Bar to surround mode so that all the speakers are used accordingly. These systems are not as simple as the ones that came before so it may take some trial and error to get the sound you want. Good luck and let me know if you succeed 🙂 Also km sure this is a given but don't forget to set the Apple TV sound to Atmos auto. Cheers!

what does the option “virtual” do?
@nosystemisperfect9954
@nosystemisperfect9954 4 жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you for stopping by! Okay so Virtual takes a movie or etc with content not encoded for Dolby or Dts 5.1 and forces it to be that way. It up converts say an old cartoon or movie which was never designed for 7.1.4 channels. The results are hit and miss. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. I don't like using it but it is there for that purpose. Try it out on content that is "stereo only" and watch what happens. The sound will either be fantastic or so far off that you'll need to go back to the regular sound. Virtual is basically another way of saying synthesized surround sound for content that never had it in the first place. Cheers!

Samsung reccomends 8 ft ceilings for the most "ideal sound" but you may be able to get around this depending on how your room is set up and slightly cranking your individual levels so that the sound bounces around your room better. The best thing to do is try it out before passing judgement. Worse comes to worse you need to get a different system that works better with your room rather then the one you originally intended. I don't think you are screwed per say you just may need to make more adjustments 👌 Give it a shot and let me know later if it works because I'm curious 👍

@@albertomanrique9548 okay so I can admit I goofed up on this one. What I did was I used the distance of SSE 1 for the rear speakers of the Nakamichi and used that as a guideline for the Q90r. So allow my to retract my statement with some proper information. So long as the speakers are not blocked or obscured and the Phantom height channels fire sound directly above your head you should be able to move them further away. However be careful with how far you move the speakers because the rear speakers of the Q90r can be way quieter sounding depending on distance. Sorry for the misinformation from before.
