You hit on the problem of not having a single remote to control everything. It's essential you connect the TV via HDMI ARC/eARC if you want to have a single remote controlling everything. (Go research what ARC and eARC are for.) And then, I'd suggest you use Samsung's "universal" remote as the name suggests, a single controller to manage everything (as that's what it's designed for).

I have Sony X90j which has EARC output, hope this soundbar can get it dolby atmos in with HDMI 2.0

What settings do you use? I have a q800c and I hear no sound separation or atmos at all, ever! I am not sure if I never calibrated it properly from day 1, or if my settings are wrong, but I am not pleased by the channel separation of the speaker. Considering to upgrade to the q930c

The lack of 2.1 HDMI should result only in 4k above 60hz video limitation. It should not however restrict the audio in any way. The Fire stick can be a problem though. Great video.

Thank you for mentioning Atmos music. I'm planning to buy this soundbar in a few months and have already purchased the Apple TV 4K just to ensure that when it arrives, I can play my songs this way. Do you have anything else to say about it? I'd love to hear.

I’m not sure why you can’t control the soundbar with one remote. I just helped a friend set up his. He has connected with the supplied hdmi into the arc input. The tv remote worked as well as the cable box remote.

As people have noted true HD and dts x both lossless proper audio so streaming stick useless use either bluray player or zidoo plugged direct to soundbar of course shield can do lossless but other options way better

Ha ha, it took me 3 deleted comments to finally grasp the stupid KZfaq UX behavior, deleting comments with URLs without any notification. (this could be a setting on the user's side as well, IDK). This time in plain text, no links :) 1. Download atmos demo files from demolandia, m2ts files with both lossy & lossless atmos. Mediainfo soft can tell you what's inside. 2. Play them through VLC player on laptop/PC, set the audio output to HDMI passthrough and device - your TV/Soundbar. Connect to HDMI_in on the q930c. The cable can be any quality 2.0 one. 3. FInd the differences and post a video. :) YT should hire a UX designer >:(

You get no advantage by plugging your Firestick to your soundbar as it is not capable of delivering lossless Dolby Atmos via Dolby TrueHD. If you plug into your soundbar a streaming device that is capable of doing it (Nvidia Shield TV Pro) then it is worth it. You are making a confusion regarding trasnmitting sound capabilities via HDMI 2.0/2.1. It is related to video: HDMI 2.0 can't passthrough 4k 120Hz video while HDMI 2.1 can. It is not related to sound, as you even can get HDMI eARC via HDMI 2.0 If you want to get rid of Firestick remote you can plug the Firestick directly into your TV and enable HDMI CEC. As you already stated you will still get lossy Dolby Atmos through HDMI ARC, via Dolby Digital +
