On my iPhone 12 mini I was ending my day usually with 5% battery life. I switched to the s23 and I'm ending my day with 49% battery life. 😳❤️

@Bushi EK3 I bought the s21 ultra for the battery because my s10 was absolute sh*t. Now it isn't as bad as the s10 was, but I do cary a battery pack now. In heavy use I burn through my battery in 6 hours.

I am using the S23 for a few weeks now and I can say it's 100% worth it. I previously had a S21 Ultra and I always complained about how thick and heavy it was, I bought it for the cameras and I rarely even used them. This one is smaller, faster and lighter compared to the Ultra, sometimes I don't even notice it in my pocket. Even without the x10 zoom, it still takes great photos. I got the model with 256GB memory, not sure if it has a faster disk, but compared to the S21 Ultra it's a lot faster, even when you update apps, it finishes a lot quicker than before. The battery life is also great, I get up to 7h 50min screen on time with normal usage for KZfaq videos, chatting and reading latest news/tweets which is a bit more time than I got on the S21 Ultra with the Exynos chip. For anyone who wants to go from a larger to a smaller phone, the S23 model is definitely a great choice.

So far for me its a bad experience, limited features, for instance my old Oppo reno 6 has more features and motion gestures. Samsung s23 says it has victus screen protection which is supposed to be the latest and strongest, however thats not the case. I can see small scratches same as my 2year old oppo reno6 of 2years. And the camera is not as great as advertise, incomparison again to my old oppo reno6 its dark, when zoom in the clicked pictures it can't hold the details, as well as it can't handle red colours..

@Onebiker the screen protection has always been shit on any phone no matter the brand. Over the past 5-6 years, I haven't seen much change in that area. Just pray not to drop it, or it will turn to shit. So far, I haven't dropped this one yet. My old s21 ultra had a few minor ones. As for the colors, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Pictures are sharp, detailed, and colorful, at least to my eyes, but I am no expert. Compared to the s21 ultra, the biggest change for me was the size, lighter weight, faster speed, less heat, and longer battery life.

You're right about the speed, the 256gb version uses UFS 4.0 memory, which is 2x faster than UFS 3.1 used in the S21 Ultra and 128gb version of the S23. It's also more power efficient, so definitely worth the extra money. Not to mention the new processor is a lot faster and more power efficient as well.

For some reason the battery drain on my s23 is too much I hardly get 5hrs of sot...waited for the learning phase to get over still no luck...I also did reset my phone and I am nowhere close to others s23,they get over 6 hrs of sot...also I am a light user ND I don't play games...

@@subincreaser i had the same issue for years all my samsung phones including the s23 +. I turned off aod , turn off accounts sync , put all unused apps to deep sleep and other apps to sleep. Removed any apps which used to run in the background . I made the changes yesterday . So far standby time is better. I will monitor this week and see how it goes. I wss gettting 4.5 hours from my s23 +. I also turned on protect battery feature so that my s23+ only charges to 85 %

Got mine 5 days before. I was worried only about battery life, Man i can say that the battery life performs better day by day. I could get 7-8 hours screen on time with 25% battery left on next day. Snapdragon 8gen2 is very efficient.

I got 9 hours and 10 minutes sot from the base s23 on light mode n 120 hz yesterday. That's bonkers! I do not like big phones, the base s23 is the perfect size for me.

You've become one of my favorite reviewers. Great summary. I bought the Ultra with a Google Fi port in deal ($599 plus x4 months of service), since I really want the zoom (and wife has Pixel 7). But I'm pretty envious of this phone's size and flat screen (and associated Fi deal at $300). Almost makes me want to return the ultra and get the base model, but the final comments about the 3x telephoto are pretty big to me.

Just received my new black S23 256gb after trading in my S21+. Although about 1cm smaller in height, the S23 feels and looks a lot better and great in the hand, very pleased and glad I made the upgrade & change. Did wonder about getting the S+ model again as thought would miss the bigger screen size, but glad I didn’t, I really like this phone, a winner.

been using the s23 for a month now and I love it. coming from the large Note and Ultras, I wanted a change and wanted something more compact and comfortable to hold. this did not disappoint. love the size and everything about this is amazing. I thought I would miss the larger screen I was used to but not the case. got used to this almost immediately. now I look at my old phones and wonder how I used such gigantic devices for so many years 😂 battery life on his is great too. lasts a whole day with regular to heavy use.

Awesome video on the S23 base model!! I agree with you on all the points you made in this video about the S23. Samsung has done a really great job with its clean presentation of this year's series, their One UI, and software updates make using the phone a joy to use, as the SD 8 Gen 2 gives it great performance as well as power efficiency to the S23 series. The price of these phones, though, are the sticking point where if you are looking to save money you should either buy a Pixel 7 or 7 Pro, or stay with the S21 if it still performs well. As always keep up the great work, always enjoy your awesome videos!!

There's just something about this phone that makes you happy when you pick it up.. I had the iPhone 14 before this, and it was a good phone but it felt very generic.. Like in Marie kondo language, it did not spark joy really... This phone the minute I put on that display, it feels like premium, sharp, like slick, sparks joy... :) I want to keep using it, I want to keep exploring what's new... iPhone did not give me that feel... Though I liked the camera slightly more for human subjects on iPhone, other than that everything samsung does is much better... And it just feels better to hold .. Have that cream colour as well and I'm loving it so far...

I bought S23 a week ago and love it a lot! I switched from iPhone XS Max and a new phone feels much better. The only complain that I have is that Android feels strange after an iPhone, especially the fact that system doesn’t allow the screen to turn on when notification come. And about battery - I use taxi app twice per working day and battery dies pretty fast even if I close the app. And also with me taking many photos and videos during working day. But I love cameras! Only disappointing fact is that some photos look blurred and way too smooth if I take a picture of a person standing full height

I'm honestly thinking about this one hard. My SE2020 lease is up in a month, and i've noticed the Galaxy S23 is just $5 more per month, plus you get free Samsung earbuds (which i will throw right away, since i bear the audiophile curse lmao) I've already got an M1 iPad Pro, and since it's literally just a bigger iPhone, why not change things up a little?

I had the s22 plus and I think the middle is the best for everyone. However the s23 is only for people who like a small phone and who haven't upgrade in the past 3 plus years. It does deserve much more love but only from people who loves that size. I guarantee you if Samsung gave the same specs and battery life as the s23 ultra on the smaller s23, then I bet it will sell a lot more than the ultra.

I agree, they are doing it on purpose to push the more expensive Ultra, if the Ultra was not so bricky and heavy I would have gone with the Ultra, but I swapped it for the S23 only to find it meh, there is nothing great about this phone to me personally, coming from an S10. The S10 gives me everything I need, plus a headphone jack and option to expand via Micro SD. The deisgn of the S23 is just a carbon copy of the iPhone, I think Samsung have lost their way a bit.

hello there, thanks for your detailed review, it was really informative. I have a question. i just got my s23. Im really loving the crazy good performance and stuff but unfortunately, the battery at the moment has been a let down for me, I tried testing in a normal day with moderate use, I was expecting to have around 4-6hours of SoT from 85% with sync, bluetooth and wifi on, but im getting only around 3-4 hours of SoT. DO you think this is normal? because compared to youtube reviews like yourself, u get around 8-9hrs of SoT from 100%. It made me paranoid and thought i got a unit with a defective battery. Do you think its possible sir? Also im running on one ui 6

I bought mine for $650 including tax at best buy and im pretty happy with the price. I got it unlocked and creme color which is nice and minimalistic. Upgrading from the s20 note and it was just too big

Ordered s23 today replacing my s22u. Tried s23 in store and it feels amazing in hand. Ultra is a tad big for me for now. Also battery life is a huge thing, exynos battery is just awful, at least on my ultra.

I had the S22 and went pixel 7 instead because the cam sucked and the samsung apps and assistant kept fighting with the Google stuff. But, overall. it was my fav samsung ever made. love the size and weight and feel. The only part I can't understand is why everyone keeps thinking this is a Tiny device. if you put it face to face with an iPhone 14 or 14 Pro, they are literally the exact same size. it's not that small.

I considered the s23 but ultimately got the s23 ultra for the bigger battery and sharp looking design. Not sure how much I'll use the S pen but overall I'm glad I stepped up and got my first Ultra device.

Yes, they didn't miss much to "cut down on costs", and this is very well reflected in the prices. They didn't cut down the costs either, but bumped up. Prices of S23 lineup are certainly not justifiable.

@@Ravill I'm about a year and a half left from being out the door and on my own and I don't want my phone to give out on me during my first few years of being financially independent. I don't wanna go with the gargantuan ultra so the battery and charge of the plus sounds reliable to give me what I need whilst staying fresh with features and updates.

@@gallofilm the only reason i would say no to S23+ is the size. If its fine for you, especially when it has rounded corners and is a bit smaller than the ultra, then would go for the S23+ for Bigger battery
