i wantedd to give alex a big shout out, after watching you videos i bought your product and tried for the first time micro soldering , ive been in the electronic field for a long time but with larger components, well my phone usb port broke, i had broken phones in a box so i looked and made one a donor removed that connector using low melt solder and omg came right off cleaned the small board like you do and replaced the connector, all while hearing your voice in my head guiding me..... i pluged it in and read the voltage and amps it was drawing 0.84 amps, the phone was chargeing woot woot, thank you so much sincerely David

Hello, I have a question! If we don't want to apply too much heat on the board, isn't better to wick those pads right away (with low melt solder) with the iron? (instead of using the hot air station I mean) Would it not move away the connector by itself or there would still have some solder left between the legs and the board? I really like the fact you use copper mesh and clean the board very neat and clean job hat off , are you in the uk ? I need to change my port aswell 😀

Flux, Amtech 559 is what he uses, best flux around lol.

this will charge 5,23 v 1,4 a if new model 7,78 v 1,2 a (5 v and 0,43 mah a bit low and changer will remind 16 hours)

Those 2 pads were 2 pins wide each. Those 2 sets of pins are supposed to be connected together.
