For people talking about price in energy consumption... The art mode for this particular model consumes 48 watts. Assuming you ran it in picture frame mode 24 hours a day, with an average price of 17-19 cents per kilowatt hour, you're looking at an extra 5 to 6 dollars per month. But it's not going to run in art mode 24/7. It has motion and light detection, so if there's no motion or light, the TV will shut off. There are also sleep timer options as well. So honestly, it's pretty negligible lol

An extra five to $6 per month is really quite high when you consider people thinks streaming services are too much and you're going to get a lot more variety out of a streaming service than you would digitally hanging artwork on your wall
@jackorlove4055
@jackorlove4055 Жыл бұрын
@@stealthis but it's probably closer to MAYBE 1 dollar a month because my example is extreme use. 24 7 no breaks. If doesn't run constantly, I wouldn't be surprised if the actual cost per month is less than a dollar honestly

I've seen the TV in electronics store and it really messes my mind. I know what I'm looking at is a TV, but it looks a lot like a real painting/photo in a frame. I think it's the coating of the screen that makes it believable since it's matte instead of the shinier TV screen. Also, I think it adjusts to the ambient light of the room, so the screen isn't too bright like a TV or too dim. It's just perfect.

Are you old enough to remember when a monitor took up half your desk? (I am) Screen savers were a thing for computers in the 1980's. They used old CRT monitors. That is so brilliant. I wonder how you're hiding the wiring the tv model and how it's hung to have such a close profile to the wall, it looks so well put together. Chef's kiss to the design!

Usually, you can re-route an outlet to behind the tv, that's what we did, and if you want to connect gaming consoles and all that, the TV comes with a separate box that houses all the HDMI and all that, and the box is connected to the TV by a very thin, clear wire that is virtually invisible! Samsung thought of it all! Edit: the TV also comes with a very specific mount that allows the tv to be pulled forward BUT be pushed back very close the wall!

I've seen the ads for these. Cool concept if you are just looking for a subtle screen to mostly stream stuff on, but dosen't seem to be for the gamer or physical media cinephile with loads of different devices to hook up.

This technology has been around for a very long time. People just refuse to learn about it. It takes a company marketing a TV specifically for that to figure it out. Tons of other TVs do this
