13:45 Mini crit kills have the same background as critical kills, so the engineer could have been using the rescue ranger and was marked for death after carrying a building.

Considering the Engineer is using a Smissmas Sweater Shotgun and not carrying a building, and the Caber had a Crit Swing Sound and Animation, i'm not sure.

I think it has something to do with the item change when using the caber after the explosion. Once the explosion happens, it changes into a different item, (so it doesn't blow up again). I believe the exploded caber has the same stats as the bottle.

the !rtd command can give “lucky sandvich” which you had at the time of the caber inflicting a crit. this roll gives ~1000+ overheal & *the first attack after rolling lucky sandvich is a guaranteed crit*

Hey, I'm the guy that made this map! Thanks for checking it out. Believe it or not, I made the entire map within just about 3 days, while in an absolute- "stupor ", just because it sounded funny at the time. Sorry for all the yakuza lol, I had just finished the game at the time of making it. Hopefully that explains almost everything. 👏

This map reminds me of a childhood show that is very close to heart, wayside. Was that one of your inspirations?

@@Ihatethemulti Surprisingly not, I hear a lot of people say it looks like wayside, but I never really watched it, though I can absolutely see the similarities once I checked. The real inspiration was weird old weird TF2 maps. The idea of a vertical "meme" tower was always an appealing idea, so I finally got around to making one.

@@ethosaur I'm assuming a lot of your inspiration also came from old PS2 SpongeBob/Ratchet and Clank games, as well as the PTSD Old Punt mods, cause I saw a lot of that in there. That really takes me back, because I used to play PS2 games like those all the time as a kid.

This map is chaos, but a vertically based control point map honestly sounds like a fun idea. If I remember right, this map maker also made a payload map based on that "Slop and Slime" burger shop, art style and everything. I think they also made a mansion full of slime girls too... but we don't talk about that.

Because it resembles the Wayside School building in the animated series, this Maps building is most likely inspired by the animated series based on the book Wayside.

It’s more based off of the old 4chan map harbl hotel, which was… not good, but a lot of people have nostalgia for it (including me). Wish it had more secrets like harbl though.

13:40 Yes, any no random crit weapon has a 0.01% chance to be a critical hit, in the game's code it's a 99.99% chance to not get a random crit, and for some reason, because Source spaget, there is that very rare chance of a non-crit weapon to get a crit. Happened to me with the Gunslinger just swinging it like mad for no reason and it does it's crit animation without consecutive hits on anyone

If you ever played Warframe, same code with Primed Sure Footed, it says it's 100% chance to resist knockdowns, but it's actually 99.99% chance and there's a 0.01% chance you actually get knocked down by blast or knockdown effects. Literally coded like hand sanitizer, gets rid of 99.99% of random crits

I would actually love to see you do a blind play through of the borderlands series. Borderlands 2 is arguably the best one. Love the content btw. your editing and style has really improved over the last few years

For clarification, because Sam sometimes is big dumb, you can actually adjust the default map-specific time countdowns. You just need to open up your server files, go to the "config" folder (the default "config" folder, NOT the "Configs" sub-folder found under the "Sourcemod" folder) and there should be a number of config files. I forget which config file has the default map round lengths, but once you find that one, you just follow the same formatting while adding your custom map and the match/round length you prefer. I hope this info helps!

I've seen this tower in my dreams. I remember falling from the top through waves and waves of crowds of people, never hitting the bottom, and always returning to the tower. I remember all my childhood avatars and imaginary friends strewn about the place, just hanging out, never noticing me, as if I was the invisible one. I remember finding myself here in a fever, muse taking hold in my throat, heat taking over my mind, as the tower expanded up and up, seemingly never ending, until it did. From the roof, I saw no people, no planes, no bird, no building. Not even stars or the sun. Just the vast blue above. And the vast white below. And then I fall. 7/10 I prefer V2, honestly, too much euclidian geometry in the new update, but the mug bar is a great addition.

Why is it that I got 70% of the references in this map? From recognizing the SpongeBob/Ratchet and Clank PS2 models/textures... to remembering all the jokes from the Old Punt phenomenon... I was even surprised to see a Junji Ito reference in there. Why does it feel like I'm the type of person this map is directed towards even though I've never heard of it until now?

It's also an exact replica of a the starting apartment in a half life 2 mod called the PTSD mod, like almost inch by inch it is exactly the same. Apparently the person who made this map is the same person who made the mod.

Seeing this map in a Samwiz video gives me vietnam flashbacks of getting repeatedly headshot when exiting spawn uncloaked, and then proceeding to get turned into dust the moment I enter the tower in an attempt to stop said sniper, as the entire enemy team has seemingly decided to go engineer to defend that one sniper
