The actress they chose to play Mary Shaw is amazing. She is absolutely terrifying, beautiful, elegant, graceful, sophisticated and very talented. I can't see anyone else in that role.

I love this whole scene. Especially 2:59 ... That moment when his mouth hangs open and his eyes kinda subtly look around, as he's trying to process what was said is genuinely eerie.

This entire scene was definitely one of the best parts of the movie. It was so unsettling even without being all that genuinely scary. And the personality, attitude, and voice given to Billy is creepy af.

what a talent in marry Shaw,,, she imitates very well in this scene n nobody can observe it. at the same played both characters . dummy is so beautiful innocent for her mother to be real human for his mother,, not for audience.

This scene for me is horror gold. it doesnt need to have effects or something. just the idea behind it is enough to give you creepy vibes. although many people dont like this movie for its obvious tricks and the rest i think its 1 of the best movies... wish they could stick in more of the idea behind the dolls they could be so creepier :^D

I had a phobia of dolls since I was a kid, the first time was when mother bought me a ragged doll with real rolling eyes. The one night I was reading a book and he was seating beside me far away. I can feel as if he was looking at me, but when i look at him he looks away. It was so creepy that I had to wake up my mother that night I heard the doll laugh and that was when I was screaming and running towards my mother's bedroom. Then thought the doll must've still had batteries in it. We went to see it and check if there is batteries. But no.. It was empty. My mom was in a state of shock that night. We had to burn it the next day. Because grandma told my mother that I was being possessed by a poltergeist... Or even a demon.

I seriously believe that Billy was alive even before Shaw died.
