Nobody can afford a place to live anymore, let alone the cost of a pet. How many people are living on the side of the road in an RV in California? Where I live, there is a $300.00 pet deposit per pet and a lot of places charge an extra $50-$100 per month for rent for your pet to live there. It's not surprising that the shelters are overrun. I wish I could see this much compassion for our homo sapien population. I guess you gotta choose who you want drooling on your couch though.

People should be able to get tax credit for pets.
