I agree. This means any business opening in SF needs another 6 months of starting capital. That increases the required ROI tremendously to justify taking risk. Businesses will eventually return, but only those that have a very high profit margin. Forget groceries.

Wife and I went to San Francisco for cooler weather July 2-4…human feces on sidewalks and a homeless guy took a number two on sidewalk in entry of closed shop with a couple less than 10 feet from him and they did not bat an eye. City has lost its magic. Voter 100% to blame.

I remember when the cops used to arrest people for doing that, they have no decency anymore and being homeless or a drug addict is no excuse for that behavior. The last time we drove through there, a drunk man pulled his pants all the way down to urinate right in front of me and I knew I wouldn't be back to visit after that. I've spent years in that city, was even born there and people are just out of control now because it's being tolerated. I don't understand why decent tax paying citizens aren't more angry and changing their votes but I guess that doesn't matter as they're all rigged to install whoever they choose.

I think the bill is way worse than just need to inform with 6 months in advanced, the groceries store owner really needs to find someone else to take over the business, it is not just a matter of giving prior notice. Not sure if being robbed all day long can't be used as an justification to close the store... I'm guessing the store owner may need to go to the federal court to force the local and state government to accept and stop harassing... and maybe even make the local and the state government pay for the losses, since it is their responsibility to maintain an environment free of crime, or is it no longer their job?

So many small businesses seem willing to close their doors and just go away until blocks and blocks of stores are boarded up......Nob Hill GONE! Where's the community outcry? All these closed businesses should be able to sue the city of San Francisco for creating a hostile business environment. This falls directly on California and San Francisco government. Turn the lawfare around on them.
