Welcome To The MadHouse: The Costa Rica Sessions !
In the Crazy Unpredictable Summer of 2022, a Year with SO MANY 2’s that it took a PAIR OF BALLS & Boxing Gloves to Survive, we had the good fortune to have been invited to the great country of ‘COSTA RICA’ to give a performance of a selection of songs from
our last project, ‘Pandora’s PlayHouse’, the music of which proved very successful for us during the past 2 years & material that myself & my wonderful Italian group of live musicians, ‘the Sugar Plum Pharaohs’ were more than happy to accomodate the preparation of.
We’d also determined that we might as well have the rehearsals serve the greater purpose of giving the curious a glimpse into the inner workings of what goes on behind the insulated doors when a band & crew come together to make themselves ready for a concert. Over the course of the filming of the documentary, ‘Welcome to the MadHouse’: the Costa Rica Sessions, we invested close to 3 weeks of daily work in order to arrive satisfactorily at the 10 Songs contained herein, & we should hope that our efforts are made apparent to your ears upon granting us the privilege of listening to this Soundtrack.
Since I tend to be the sole musician on the albums that I make, I always look forward to having the chance to work with MARCO MENGONI (Drums, Percussion, & Backing Vocals), FRANCESCA MORANDI (Bass), & LUCA PEDRONI (Guitar) & myself SM (Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals), when the time avails itself for Live Interpretation. The Music was Mixed by none other than Matteo ‘Sergente’ Sandri & Massimo Faggioni.
It is always a fulfilling pleasure being with them & making music together, which if we are lucky, you too will agree.
So PLEASE ENJOY this Soundtrack to our Documentary ‘Making of a Concert Rehearsal’ film ‘Welcome to the MadHouse’: the Costa Rica Sessions !

Madame Francesca, It is early in the wee hours here at my home. Listening to Sananda's music when my feet 1st hit the floor is my routine. Your question asked of your husband during your interview, if he felt like a survivor especially celebrating the reissuing of the Hardline after 35 years. Again, I saw and listened to his reply. The pain is still there. His avoidance of any of this looking back thing is a "no no". I have been guilty of pushing him as a true fan, by asking him to come home to do a concert. I looked in his face, into his eyes, heard the hurt in his voice, and felt the pain, the cut of the knife if you will. I will never again be a part of hurting Sananda Maitreya. As a die hard USA fan, I truly apologize. As long as he is happy, so am I. Fans are ruthless sometimes.

I just LOVED it! What an experience! You STILL GOT IT, my friend. The music is fantastic, the band is sweet, your voice, and overall performance were ALL on point. BEST WISHES FROM THE USA, a diehard fan. NEVER doubted you for one minute. Mr. Sananda Maitreya, carry on..........

I watched all of this (did you?). Ok, it took me 3 days as I am working. Anyway, Sananda's voice is ageing beautifully and getting richer as he gets older. Ciao for now.

THIS IS GREAT. The WARMTH in the overall sound!! I haven't heard that type of analog compression in MANY years... at one stage, decades ago, it's what people were used to hearing. As a Child, I grew up listening to vinyl records that HAD that very same treatment and warmth. I MISSED IT for so long, now I've FOUND it again. Thank you, Sananda Maitreya!

It was an immersive experience. "The Mad House" sounds amazing, great groove and I could imagine "Prince" as a "soundtrack" to his life. The great British philosopher was right. :)))

Great live performance and truly wonderful documentary! The MadHouse never sounded better, and Sananda's vocals are really top-notch! Can't wait for some new tour, because Sananda's music simply must be experienced live in concert! Oh, and from the latest album there are also great songs, like Kings of Avalon, Life's a Bitch, Mr Skeleton and Pie that should be included on the setlist.

Awesome project, Sananda! Do you have any plans to release a Blu-Ray or digital version of the concert film? At any rate, keep up the great work and keep following that incredible voice.
