Back nearly 4 years ago, I mentioned that various Sanchin bunkai (or, alternatively, Nafadi Seisan or Suparinpei applications) could also be applied against a double-punch, or even a triple-punch...
This video was filmed more than a year ago (but never posted due to its low quality). That said, I think it illustrates this point.
Any technique using a parry-pass against right punch can also be applied to a left-lead jab-cross.
Furthermore, any parry-pass technique which can be used against a single left punch can likewise be used against a straight right-left double-punch.
Still further, such technique which use a similar circular motion (similar to that found in the opening of Sanchin) including such Suidi/Tumaidi kata as Unsu) can also even be used against three punches (an example of which starts at 0:40).
I hope this helps you think about kata more flexibly and in a way that better addresses real-world situations.
Sadly I still used the staccato 1,2,3 rhythm of the first video, which was/is, a learning tool. This is in contradistinction to the smooth (not staccato) rhythm found in the kata itself (and which best reflects an ideal application of kata movement).
