Nice little rig, I'll definitely be making one. Nice clear instructions as usual. Be nice to try to see what takes it off the beach here. I have made one before but not as nice as that. A tiny whiting got on it and made a right birds nest out of it. Thought it was on a May pole. Cheers.

I have never seen an up and over rig with crimps on, in my eyes all crimps do is weaken the rig body as that line isn't designed to be squashed as that then becomes a weak point, also I've never seen a genie clip used like that except on a pully dropper and again without crimps. An up and over rig is basically "when it unhooks" a glorified running ledger. I understand everyone has there own version of each rig and I appreciate you have your own way and I'm NOT rubbishing the design of yours but I do it do differently and your reminds me of a 'FIXED" up and over which no doubt it is.

instead of fixing your main rig body crimps then cutting your line to suit your ip as you did, what i do is hand my rig up on a swivel that comes off a curtain rail above my head, i have the sinker on so its as if its hanging off my rod tip, i put the hook length in the imp -the sinker applies the correct tension and then i crimp the main rig body to suit. i think it takes the guess work out of it. good vid tho interesting we use the same rig in new Zealand for smoothies as well, amongst other things. i usually just have a pennal on a long pulley rig though. also what are your views on black amnesia in terms of visibility to fish? stick to clear mono for hook lengths? i use 30 pound flurcarbon or 40-50 pound clear mono usually. size 5-0 hooks tho

Love the videos and not too complicated for a beginner. What size crimps do you use as I'm scared of weakening the rig body by pinching? Could I use 2 pieces of neoprene each side as stoppers? Keep up the good work

Any chance of a video to help people starting out know what stuff they need to buy and what is a waste of time? What line to buy. What hooks. What other parts (beads, swivels, links, imps, weights etc. ) so we can start making some of the rigs you show? Your videos are great, but you often use parts that take some time to acquire. I've been ordered to self isolate for 14 days so want to tie some rigs, but obviously I'm not able to go to the tackle shop so need to buy online.
