Sandy Lane, Duston - New Roundabouts and Housing Developments

Drone footage of the new developments, roads and roundabouts around Sandy Lane, Duston, Northampton.
Duston is part of the main Northampton town and has had expansion earmarked for many years. Finally the time came for it to come to fruition and building work started in 2022.
The closure of several local roads due to the civil engineering projects associated with 100s of new homes has caused existing residents much disruption. Currently Sandy Lane is closed from Larkhall Lane, Harpole to Berrywood Road, Duston. This has caused lengthy delays and increased traffic through Harpole village, much to the annoyance of residents.

Nice drone footage. However, your labels are wrong. None of the construction work is in Duston. Most of the construction is in Harpole parish, and the rest is in Upton parish. The Duston parish boundary is on the north side of Berrywood Road and east of Old Sandy Lane.

Should never have been allowed to close for so long builders coming before council tax payers first week April 2024 still not open disgraceful thanks for footage good job

Unfortunately building has really slowed down due to no one buying houses. The developers may use that as an excuse for not completing the road, the deadline of March seems unrealistic from the progress so far.

@@sarahjohnson9075 That absolutely needs to happen too, but that does not make this development needless. There will be hundreds of families who still want and need these houses.

@mattholland0202 i dont disagree there's a need for housing, but the greenbelt should be left as that - people need to eat. There are plenty of brownfield sites available... I think the root cause to all the current 'crises' (and issue that nobody is brave enough to debate or do anything about) is the global population!
