Never has anyone ever sang this song better than Eva Fernandez. Absolutely beautiful. Eva is just so wonderful and so beautiful. Andrea Motis does such a marvelous job on trumpet.

No sé ¿saturación, tal vez? ...

@@ArturoBeramendi1704 Excuse me, I have to change to English. Above all: I (we?) love that olde music, which says something about me/us. It's also a good way to teach them music, but I'd be disappointed if they would stick in yesteryear forever. You asked: "saturation, maybe? rebellion? Need to earn the beans with more commercial stuff?" Any combination of that, I suppose. SAJB was home and school for them. Kids leave the premises eventually to become adults and live their lives, develop their styles and earn money. They may choose styles well-known from childhood, like Alba and Rita ("we played many of these songs at home", she said in Cologne, and there is a market for her creativity). OTOH, Andrea stated that she had to break out, but not in a rebellion. It's her new way as Christoph's partner. And, I don't know if Sinatra songs are Eduard Ferrer's deep love, but the candlelight concerts will certainly contribute to his finances - he is good at that! I will be happy when they develop to a point where I cannot follow - I still have their CDs for pleasant times!

@@paulsj9245 Thank you Paul. You're probably right, kids learn music with Classical Jazz and then develop their career and creativity with other very different styles. And yes, we will always have his old records and videos with the SAJB or outside of it, ok... But why totally renounce his origins? Why not combine one and the other? Andrea does it. And Alba, Carla, Marçal and many others... at least for now, they haven't completely broken with that. And I would like all these kids who are leaving the band to do the same: new paths without giving up what was before. There is time to do everything. Greetings. 😉

You should hear live sound in American venues. You have it lucky. I think I could solve the problems in minutes. I was the board member responsible for sound for the wichita kansas jazz festival ( second oldest continual jazz festival in us) for several years and it could get much worse. Most of the sound guys here do only rock and country, spend 30 minutes putting a dozen mics on the drums and 5 minutes on the rest of the band. Yeah, you've got it lucky.

Who did this arrangement? It’s so good! Eva Fernandez never sounded better. And Andrea Motis is doing such great work especially since her new instrument! Bravo Maestro Chamorro! Would love to see SAJB do Bernard Hermann’s Taxi Driver theme one day. It would be such a great showcase for everyone! In fact SAJB could do a series of movie themes - they did a great version of Laura already. The noir movies of the forties and fifties is a treasure trove of material that would fit the band.
@ArturoBeramendi17042 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. These guys are capable of playing and singing anything. And the soundtracks of old movies would be great for them. in fact they already have something in that sense: Andrea Motis singing "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f7hllN2py8zOd5s.html. Andrea herself with Rita Payés singing "Cheek to Cheek" from Top Hat. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqx3prV7ssWYkqc.html I would love to hear Alba Armengou or Eva Fernández singing "As time goes by" of Casablanca, with Jan Domenech on piano. Or the full band, with Marçal Perramón or Alba Esteban on sax, playing the main theme of "The pink phanter". Or "Lawrence of Arabia", with Élia Bastida on violin. Or "An american in Paris" arranged by Joan Monné to make it sound more jazzy. Or "Stars War" full steam ahead...

This is the arrangement that Eva sang to in the Palau de Music concert in 2011, the SAJBs first 'really big show'. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f5mUdMuqudbNdnU.html Arrangement was by Victor's father, ALFONS CARRASCOSA

This is from Palau de la Música Catalana, inaugurated in 1908. Designed by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It is considered one of the world's major concert halls and an excellent example of Catalonian Modernism. The interior is decorated with ceramic mosaics and polychrome windows with floral motifs. In 1997 it was declared to be a UNESCO World Heritage site.
