Santana was classis rock with a Latin flavor. Anyone saying that he isn't doesn't have a clue about music. He had many different musicians through the years with massive musical backgrounds. The longevity of the band speaks for itself. With that said; i was 7 years old when I heard his first album played by an Uncle in 69 and i was hooked. Great channel with great reactions.

Classic Rock. As a 72 yr old you have my vote. Santana influenced so many. I recall the first time I heard Abraxas I was in ecstasy. As a freshman in college working on a project with my Cuban/American teammates, they were astounded that I had never eaten an avocado or heard Santana. Both deficiencies were quickly corrected to my delight.

It's Classic Rock. Tampa 98 Rock in the 70s played Santana regularly, as did every other classic rock fm station. Wonder where you heard it before? On a Classic Rock radio station!

I find it hard to believe that no one mentions that you are watching Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie before they left and created Journey!

Santana was definitely part of the "classic rock" I grew up with, on heavy rotation with the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence, Zeppelin etc. (Luckily there was far less of the tyranny of genre categorisation back then). Samba Pa Ti is right at the top of rock instrumentals. I would definitely second you doing some more Santana!

One of the most inspiring guitarists ... A master of melody and soulful magic. 😷👌Looking forward to more of this ... So many genius, magic songs ... His cover of "Black Magic Woman" is a classic, though the original Peter Green masterpiece is close to my blues guitar heart 💓 "Song of the Wind", and so, so many, many more. Europa... !! The Woodstock '69 version of "Soul Sacrifice" is beyond words ... "Jingo", and on and on, and on... 👍👍👍 I would rank this up in the Top 30, just because Santana would have about 10+ more above it on my list 😉👌 My lists are so long, varied, eclectic, and subject to change 😷👍 Carlos Santana is truly and international treasure!!!

For me, one of the greatest instrumentals of all time, and instrumentals are their own category. You're right, though - it's too short!

I'd rank it among Top 5-6 Santana solos. It's so laid back; I lean towards his incendiary jams. The live solo in "Dance Sister Dance" blows me away.

To me it is just really moving fantstic music and it is tied for 3rd with Nightwish Elvenjig. That being said...Carlos Santana is my #1 guitar god.

This was the classic song to MAKE LOVE TO; I don't mean "have sex to", I mean make love to, back in the day.

First of thank you for comparison of studio & live versions. It's was like watching santana when they first come onto the scene, then what he has evolved to so far. As far as my opinion of what genre, I believe Carlos is one of the few artists that has songs that cover SO many different genres. Of course he has classic rock songs, he has latin rock, jazz, blues, salsa, reggae, rap, pop categories, & so on... I remember when my dad bought Santanas first album. I've seen him live around 30 times, SO FAR... lol. Santana is a beautiful human being. I think if anyone is going to do a reaction of santana you need to do it to a live version to get the santana experience. Thank you again for this excellent reaction.

@SoulTrainBro. Samba Pa Ti would be in my top 5 Santana tracks. they have Many instrumentals. Samba Pa Ti would be the first. Flor De Luna (Moonflower) and Europa would be the next two.. Greg Rolie on HB3.. the Video shows 2 new players, 16 yr young Neal Schon (Journey) on the Axe and Coke Escovedo, who has many brothers in music industry as well as his niece Sheila E.. there is a 9 minute live version of Samba Pa Ti on the 1973 album Lotus from Japan.. Props also to David Brown, Bassist and composer and tribute to original member Magnificent Marcus Malone on percussion. Peace
