What you're saying does not make sense, and I spent my childhood discussing these things with a grandfather who spent the whole war in trenches too. Brody helmets are ridiculously easy to fall off your head. You've clearly never worn one. I have. You cannot run around in a Brody helmet with the chin strap undone let along engage in combat. They're bad enough with one. Photos of soldiers wearing this helmet almost never show the straps unfastened for this reason, even when they're just marching along a road. You'll even see them fastened when they're just sitting around in a trench. This makes sense whenever I play Sniper Elite and if I don't shoot it right German helmets just bounce off without causing any harm to the soldier so yeah pretty neat they included this in the movie

If it's so realistic, why don't they show a single soldier who lost his helmet? You would assume half of them were looking for it after some intense battlefield action

Yes and I tried to tell that to the Army when I see him you keep that chin strap down and tight what about concussion what about snapping your neck or you don't care uniformity keep it tight
