The Traveling ZAM

Күн бұрын

There is no feeling like descending deep into the sacred burial chambers of the pyramids. It fills me with both wonder and mystery. And Egypt is full of mystic monuments. The vast desert landscape is dotted with over 100 pyramids. Most picture the three great pyramids of Giza, but on this trip, I wanted to go further and deeper and explore some of the pyramids that are less known to the casual tourist. My intrigue took me south, to Saqqara, Memphis, and Dashur. I was blown away with the sights I beheld. And this is how it went…

Thankyou so much for an exceptional video tour and being a great tour guide. I really enjoyed your descriptions. There is such a difference between where you were there and where I live on the West Coast of Canada. About the only thing that I see in common between the two places is that when you went deep into the Bent Pyramid, there was a wooden support post that I believe was a cedar from Lebanon and, of course, we have the big cedars here as well, ha. That was the best tour yet.

The music was a bit loud at times, but I enjoyed the video very much nonetheless. I particularly liked the various bit about how long it took to get from one place to another, about the population of Giza, about what made Saqqara different from Giza, etc. It made me better understand how it would feel to be there. I look forward to seeing more videos from you. You are a good storyteller. ❤

Im not gonna lie, the first thought when I saw the hiro glyphs of saqqara were that they look like they were added on, maybe thousands of years after the blocks were set and made.

Hi, very enjoyable video. You did miss out on the pyramid of Userkaf and the pyramid of Teti at Saqqara which are the 2 ruinous mounds but their insides are well preserved. On a similar note, there are even more pyramids north of Saqqara at Abusir, which sadly are also ruinous mounds. The red pyramid itself is arguably more interesting on the inside than the bent pyramid (and it has no bats!)

The Egyptian s at those sites can be an amazing asset to your visit! They will escort you & guide you around the tombs, open locked tombs & explain the hieroglyphs & materials used! I love your video don't get me wrong but those Egyptian people at the sites offer much more historical information than your video did ... there's no facts ...
