Rest in peace, Gary Moore... so sad of a day... your guitar stays with us, and you shall live trough it. Farewell...
† Gary Moore was found dead in February 06 2011, while on vacation at Costa del Sol, Spain. †
- - -
Gary Moore and friends performing "Still in Love With You" in the "One Night in Dublin: a Tribute to Phil Lynott" concert at The Point Theatre, Dublin, Ireland, August 20th, 2005. [Part 5/10]
It´s considered Lizzy´s most reconned and long ballad, with a good display of the band´s guitar solo feats. It qas covered by Mastodon among other artists.
---
Phillip Lynott was the bassist, lead singer, lead composer and frontman for the band Thin Lizzy, in wich Moore played for some time too.
Gary Moore (was) a renowed guitar player, his style ranging from Heavy Metal and Blues to Country music.
Brian Robertson is known for being one of pioneers on the famous "twin guitars" of the band.
With no further ado, enjoy this song in high quality, and see all the other parts of this historical concert in my channel.

Gary Moore e amigos na performance da música "Still in Love With You" no concerto "Uma Noite em Dublin: um tributo a Phil Lynott" (tradução livre), que aconteceu no The Point Theatre, em Dublin, Irlanda, no dia 20 de Agosto de 2005. [Parte 5/10]

The words make me cry for the love that I lost when my wife passed away, I know that's not what it's about but it fits so perfectly now! I wish all good health and a love like my wifes :-)

@@paulf2723 Ok I understand and respect your point and I love Scott Gorham so much. I love his solo for this song and it is absolutely amazing. But this one is also quite amazing. I don't want to compare artists like that because this is just pure amazing music and it is just subjective how people would love more one than the other. Both are amazing and I just feel lucky that I got to know these amazing pieces in my life. If I was unlucky, I would maybe never discover these music.

@@paulf2723 Actually Gary wrote the bulk of the song originally in 74, he also demo'd it with Phil during the run for cover sessions in 85, its a little faster. Can find it online, was remastered in 2002, both solos on the live and Dangerous albums borrowed heavily from what Gary played originally, Robbo's solo was pretty much a direct copy, though Scott did add a bit more of his own flair he still kept the structure. What he played at this concert was improvised on the spot, the mark of a true master. Personally I like the L&D version best, so I totally get what you are saying, but I wouldnt want to confine the likes of Gary like that, the man was made to explore, it would be missing the point of who and what he was.

Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Brian Robertson, John Sykes, the list goes on, these people have brought so much joy to the people who know and love Thin Lizzy. Gary gets and deserves the kudos but they were all chosen by Phil to express and acentuate his music for a reason. I love Brians playing and Scott was as solid as any. The rock world lost so much with the passing of Phil and Gary as is evident here with this wonderful song/lyric and arrangment. First vid I've seen of Gary and Brian together and I was thrilled that it exists, Still in love with you, dancing in the moonlight, the sun goes down, southbound.....ahhh what a band Thin Lizzy was in all its entities! pulling emotions from your soul, does'nt get any better. So glad to have been along for the ride from the beginning. Play on guys wherever you are!

When they asked Brian to rerecord the solo from this song, Gary's signature song, because he had just left Lizzy and the suits wanted Brian on the song. He had just joined and he listened to the lead that was destined to be on the album and he flat refused. He said," It can't be done any better than that and if I can't improve on something I won't do it". What a musician, what a man...... he told them to shove it, it couldn't be done better than Gary had already done....... lol!

Fortunate enough to see Gary in the 90’s…there,s great guitarists and then there’s Gary Moore ..he rips my heart out every time I hear him play that thing. No one else can do that but Brian Robertson nails it here so big respect

Amazing tribute. This is my favourite Thin Lizzy song. It still haunts me. I never had the chance to see Phil Lynott on stage but at least I saw Gary Moore in concert back in 2008. R. I. P. Phil and Gary.
