This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and it resonated with me from the very moment I heard it. It came out a year after my dog had passed. We had her for 18 years. I grew up with her and she was always a special part of my Christmas, right there with me opening presents. This always makes me think of her and cry in the most heartwarming way, I called her "my love" ❤

This is one of the greatest Christmas songs ever. It Takes me back to 1990 and my one and only Christmas with my first wife, our marriage didn’t even last a year but the wonderful memories will be with me forever... time goes by way too fast.

I'm watching this as I rock my 10 month old daughter back to sleep. Something about a darkened room, a piano, and Sarah's voice that bring the gravity of this moment in time into complete focus. The only sound within earshot more beautiful than Sarah's voice is the soft cooing from this perfect being bunched in my arms. Oh how I wish I can live this moment for awhile longer... Hearing this song on the Voice for the first time - it was so thought provoking. I looked it up as a song sung by Sarah McLachlan. I listened again and again, memories of my childhood, family members flood my thoughts with visions of happiness - precious times I took for granted. Yes Merry Christmas to Mom, Dad, grandparents - all those near and dear to me. I just never knew what I had.

This truly is a Sarah's masterpiece...extremely touching... makes me cry everytime, every Christmas.

My husband bought me thiaalbum when it was new. I remember listening to this with him right beside me. Now it's been almost 9 years since he died. This year, missing him has been more intense than any other. Sadness has turned to depression and i give up more days than not. Things will just never be right without him.

FOr my mother..our very own Queen of Christmas..the one who made me promise that when she was gone, I would carry on the tradition of a big family celebration. The one who could turn the house into a winter wonderland that time of year. She loved Christmas and its magic so very much. I never thought she would be gone so soon..her last Christmas was in 2007. A heart breaking, gut wrenching, beautiful song.

I am sure that Sarah uses minimal technical resources. I know she does not use autotune. An very, very fine singer just won't use it. Her voice is so perfect because she knows how to breathe, how to balance the highs and lows. It is almost as if her singing and the piano are one. I have seen her in concert twice. It was incredibly beautiful -- or, as one critic said, "ethereal." This song is so, so filled with longing and joyful memory.

I had this song on my Christmas song list. I heard it on the way home and with what happened today with the shooting in CT, it made tears just fall down my face. This song seems very appropriate now with what happened. I can not imagine what those parents are feeling right now. How can they ever have a good Christmas ever again. Another one of Sarah's gems and there are many of them! Not easy to have a dry eye listening to her! Listening to her helped keep me alive and sane in some of the darkest times of my life. Her voice is so touching and she's always been a beautiful girl and she's my favorite female vocalist!
