I enjoy watching your videos and yes i am a "girl" but most kids raised on farms and ranches around here can be brats that don't appreciate their parents hard work and sacrifice they just want to inherit the farm/ranch for the money - but you get in there, get dirty and put in a honest days work - when i was a kid i would spend part of my summer in North Dakota with my aunt and uncle on their dairy farm - loved it!!!! I was afraid of a couple of the cows as they had a few moody ones that kicked but sure miss those days milking cows and making homemade butter - even though it never turned to butter til my aunt would take over😢oh but i hated warm buttermilk!!! You like buttermilk? I had never had it before and my uncle was drinking it (i was quite the tomboy) so i asked for some buttermilk - they poured me a huge glass and oh my lord soooooooo gross as it was soooooooo warm too - my aunt made me drink the whole glass - wretched stuff😉 Really enjoy the aerial views with drone - you can tell you put a lot of time, thought and heart into your videos. Take care and thanks again for giving us a peek at dairy farmers life!

I'm staying in this area of Phoenix that's a grid neighborhood, a few times bigger than usual lots, and there are various farms in here. There's some horses, some cattle and chickens. It's an interesting system being a very small farm area. They get water in bulk every few weeks by what looks like flooding. It's a little odd because it's a suburb of a major city, not quite on the edge of the city but out towards it.

Gotta be some heavey lifting to break six big bolts like that. Maybe a stronger grade of bolt would help. I bet the calves think it's a fun ride too.. The cattle probably like getting into new digs for awhile, new corners to explore, different view. They get to meet new girls. I like seeing the calves play in fresh bedding. Good video. Peace.
@saskdutchkid3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it! Yea maybe stronger bolts but the frame was already breaking to! Would rather the bolts snap then the frame breaking even more!
@kpsteigstra3 жыл бұрын
@@saskdutchkid That construction was always bound to fail. The bolts take all the force when lifting a bale while the frame should be taking it. Right now the frame acts like a pair of scissors to those bolts. The bolts should only be holding the frame in place. The force is in a horizontal direction, the bolts should be too. That way the frame takes all the heat and the bolts don't. If you wanna fix it forever, you need to do some cutting and welding and turn the plane where the bolts are in in an upright position. Love your videos!!

Have you considered a plate between the hydrologic plate and the section you've welded to help strengthen the area? Help take stress off those welds maybe...
@saskdutchkid3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm not a bad idea
@dhenschel43 жыл бұрын
Since they're only having problems on the one side, seems the welded area broke again and caused the failure. The angle bar (with holes) welded to the frame are likely designed to the limit and the one should probably be replaced.
@radarmike67133 жыл бұрын
@@dhenschel4 oh probably. I figured add the plate to just help strengthen round those bolt holes. As there isn't much metal there to displace the pressure
@dhenschel43 жыл бұрын
@@radarmike6713 Actually I thought the plat idea too while watching the vid, and 'liked' your post when I read it. The plate would help spread the force to all six bolts better and may be all that is required. Just thinking why a failure hasn't happened on the other side...definitely a lot of force on the pistons lifting up the round bales.
@radarmike67133 жыл бұрын
