Or rather he didn’t think Itachi would come back and LITERALLY change Sasuke’s mind. Right before the eye transplant Sasuke literally said that he wanted to destroy Naruto. Literally implying that he was on Obito’s side. Obito did not expect Sasuke to switch sides at all.

You know, I had always viewed Obito's speech about Itachi's truth as just a way to manipulate Sasuke, but when I think upon it further Obito probably did greatly admire Itachi as a person. All of the compliments he gave him were likely genuine. I bet Obito even harbored a bit of resentment towards Danzo for everything he did to the Uchiha. Obito himself believed he was saving the world at that time, let's start with that. Now, obviously Itachi's intentions were more pure and based in reality, unlike Obito he was a real hero the whole time. Unfortunately, Obito's view of the world had been tainted by Madara. Itachi had sacrificed himself and everything he cared about for the sake of peace. Obito was completely misguided in how he went about it, but in a way his motivations were not unlike Itachi's in how he was willing to go to extremes to secure peace. I also want to believe that Obito felt pain when he fought his former loved ones like Minato and Kakashi, but he did it anyway for his mission. Maybe I'm giving Obito too much credit, but those are my thoughts.

When I said he felt pain in the moment, I am more talking about a more subconscious level of pain. That was a theme of Obito’s life, he would do all these horrible things and lock away all of his doubt, regret, and guilt from his consciousness to achieve his delusional goal.

Fun fact - Sasuke's EMS reveal was in chapter 553 which came out mid-September 2011. 12 years ago. I eagerly waited for the next, but he didn't come back til 567 for one page (at least it was in color). 😆 Then 574 was the Zetsu group confrontation.

He knew nothing about jinchuriki or Bee or else he wouldn't: turn his back to a jinchuriki, use a genjutsu against one, fight 1 sword against 8 swords, use lightning against a lightning user, not training using his ms (so only had genjutsu). Btw he also had to save his friends and of course they saved him from the start so there's no point in that talk. Tho if Karin unlocked her chains it would be game over for Bee.

But isn't the EMS just a regular MS that doesn't make you go blind? Sasuke only started having trouble with his vision after fighting Danzo. I'm also guessing there's a pain factor to the regular MS, that doesn't come with the EMS. But my point is: In terms of raw power, they are on the same level, so Sasuke isn't more powerful due to having the EMS, he just doesn't go blind or experience pain while using it. Also I think the reason he got so powerful after getting the EMS, was because of the immense practice he got while spamming the regular MS at the 5 Kage Summit. You can tell with each use how he gets more proficient with it and is able to take the pain better, until he nearly goes blind at the end.

sasuke was pretty terrifying at the kage summit. it was inevitable too, when itachi dies and he learns the truth, the 5 kages were screwed. Its pretty sad too actually, everyone from his clans dead, itachi kills his parents, and then it turns out itachi was the good guy all along? not to mention he saved sasuke too?? sasukes mind was definitely an absolute mess, it makes total sense why he went insane at the kage summit.

Correction when shuisui was alive itachi never had the MS. After his death he unlock his ms due to the death of his long best friend. The only way he could of gotten the EMS was from his father but authors probs didn't wanna make him more op than he was already.

Sasuke killed the original white zetsu and the clones as well. The ones inside of him knew that coming out of him means they'll get the same fate but that's the least of their worries. Cause Orochimaru told Jugo to use his sage power to drive them out Sasuke, used four of them to used reanimated jutsu, Jugo suck one dry and the other for Orochimaru's new body.

It avoided a civil war that could have led to a world war from other nations taking advantage of Konoha's inner conflict. Itachi chose to protect the greater good.

@@sasukeiseasilythebestchara2954 that's like killing off a whole nation to prevent world world 3. If world war has to happen, it will happens. You have to solve the problem that 'cause the problem which is the mistreatment of the uchiha, not killing them all.

@@hieuthepunk Yes, wiping out a nation to avoid greater loss through a world war is also justified. Itachi was driven into a corner. An ideal solution (seemingly) couldn't be reached. So he went for the (supposed) next best option.

@@sasukeiseasilythebestchara2954 nope!! Wiping out a whole nation is never an option. Not even evil tyrants in history chose that options. And as i said killing the uchiha does not prevent world war. it just slow the process a bit. If the other nations want war, they would pick another opportunity. If the reason for war still remains, killing does not solve anything.

@@hieuthepunk It prevents the immediate threat. Still being a problem later doesn't mean it shouldn't be avoided now. Especially when it can also be avoided later.
