lmao I still haven't even practiced the essay and got 21/24. Thats good enough for me. I care about the my actual sat score more. and can't motivate myself to practice a timed essay, especially since I've written a whole bunch in ap Lang last year

I personally think that saying anything similar to "this shows that" is not a good idea. The idea is to prove that you can transition between one idea to the next without saying a simple transitional phrase such as "this demonstrates". What they really emphasize on is analysis and ability to transition between paragraphs and analysis without "this demonstrates". That is just my idea.

I would honestly just immediately transition into the explanation. I think that the cliche "This shows..." is kinda generic and extremely simple. From my personal experience, I would either (or do both): 1. Clarify or explain the quote / add a basic hook before my analysis. I would define some parameters as to what needs to be explained in a simple manner (as in giving background explanation on the author's view from the star) 2. Just go right in. There is likely no need to have a transition statement. Going right in prevent redundancy for every paragraph
