I used to work for an extended stay hotel. We did weekly cleanings on the same day the guest moved in so if they moved in on a Monday that was the cleaning day. Every single week I had a cpl that claimed I wasn’t cleaning their room. They would go to management and complain but my boss knows how meticulous I am so she had me take before and after pictures so it there was proof with a time stamp. This is something I still do. If a customer calls and says hey you forgot something, I can simply check my worksheet and my photos. No one is perfect and sometimes things do get overlooked but sometimes people do take advantage as well so it’s a good way to cover your own butt.

The pickiest of people are those who have had bad experiences in the past and often they nit-pick until they realize you're going to do your best no matter what and you've got them covered. Once they are confident in your service, you often never hear from them again, they are gone when you come to clean, they pay on time and they are generally satisfied with all your cleanings. It is important though to find out what their triggers are (and they will tell you on the walkthrough.) Make a note of it and then steer clear of those triggers.

I am completely addicted to your videos, thank you for taking the time to make videos to educate us housecleaners! I would love to do the money back guarantee but knowing the people in my city, it would be taken advantage of so I just have a 24 hour return guarantee where I return and fix any mistakes that were made. However if a client is unhappy I probably would offer a discount or refund but it's not something that I'll advertise. I'm just getting started with my own cleaning business and I plan on using the worksheet that way I can also leave notes for the client if needed. I made my own originally but I'm really liking the one you offer so I'll switch to that, thank you!

How do I clean for show? I have a few things extra that I do like folding toilet paper grooming carpets and folding towels polishing fixtures. But what else can I do or goes into cleaning for show. I have a lady who is putting her house on market to sell.
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 3 жыл бұрын
If her home is furnished the home just needs to be cleaned really well. The extra touches you are now providing are great. The key is not to over do it - such as you wouldn't fold towels into swans or elephants - that would be overkill and not a productive use of time. (You might for an AirBNB - where ratings and reviews are your goal) But for a home on the market - it's got to be a cleaning that can be maintained day in and day out by the client even when you are not there.

Hi Angela! I'm asking a bunch of questions lately cuz although I think I discovered your KZfaq channel a couple years ago I've really been watching a lot of your videos in the last couple weeks. Thank you for all you too! I am not a house cleaner, I do not have a house cleaning business. I am in the process of starting my own business, mobile pet grooming. With regards to business informative videos, do you happen to have one that talks about bank accounts, credit unions, money management and maybe with regards to owner/operator, business or very small business? At some point when you were starting out, were you owner operator? Or did you start out with employees right off the bat? You might have a video like this already if so, if you would provide the link that would be great! Thanks again!

Angela I have had the same cleaning lady's for 2 years every month. I was gone when they left my home. She charges 80 and I prepay 120. Every month... always been so happy until yesterday. My floors are still filthy should I call her and ask her If she sent somebody or came herself??? Because I took a wet white towel and went over my floors they are still filthy... I love my house cleaner but this is wrong!!! What should I do???? Tysm
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
A satisfaction guarantee is standard in the cleaning industry. Call and say "hey, you do such a great job until today and my floors are still filthy. I'm concerned with the sudden change, are you okay?" After finding out if she's alright, give her a time when it's okay for her to return and re-mop the floors. You've already paid for the service and there is no need to be cleaning after the cleaning tech leaves. NOTE: House cleaners are human, they get sick, go through family tragedies, have changes in eye-sight, experience cognitive slipping as they age, among other slight life altering changes just like everyone else. Because a cleaner once did a stellar job and is no longer delivering the same quality - usually signals a life change of some sort.

@themiserykid 2 жыл бұрын
Different point of view, you are only being charged 80 bucks, perhaps ask for a more detailed clean and pay higher rate. I think you should have let that go. 2 years and one bad day, let it go. I am glad my clients know that I am not perfect and appreciate my hard work because I would step down over complaint like this. I also would never do a monthly clean for that low of a price.
@cwgmama

@@themiserykid thank you, I did let it go.. I am crippled and Disabled, and I can't even pick up anything if I drop it. Not a piece of paper.. nothing.. I was having a bad day and Shouldn't have even posted here.. I love my house cleaner, I would be sooo lost without her. She really is amazing. It's me, I have a hard time with any type of confrontation. And I can't afford to pay anymore than I do. I live on less than 700.a month. After I pay my rent, electricity, phone, house cleaner, I am flat broke, but thank you for your input.. but I just let it go... and I'm happy I did. Plus My apt is very small, no clutter, all they have to do is make my bed, sweep, mop, I don't have carpet, they don't do laundry, or dishes, Back before I became crippled I used to be a house cleaner, so I know... I sure do..

@@cwgmama She sounds like she is giving you an amazing price, but understand she has other homes to service in order to pay her bills and is probably having to work extra fast to make deadlines. She is probably rotating tasks to keep costs down for you, but if she works faster she could risk injury. I used to offer amazing deals to help until my ankle was hurt and my bills fell behind. I think it sounds like she is doing best work for price. I wish you the best! I offer 4 FREE CLEANS A MONTH to help in my community. You can inquire about FREE CLEANING in your area if you have disability and limited funds. Maybe we could get you a free clean for better details. Angela, when you do your initial 4 hour clean (auditioning for the job), what areas do you focus on as priority to get that “wow” factor?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
You are not going for a WOW factor. You are going for a "this is your new standard clean and what you can expect." If you shoot for the moon on your "audition" they will expect a deep clean on every clean thereafter. The goal is to set realistic expectations and then meet and exceed them. Does that make sense?

Angela I always watch your videos and I'm always getting great advice from you I picked this video to message you and ask you for your help. Each week when I go to my customer's house who lives on a lake there is bug poop and spiderwebs like a combination all around the door frame on the ceilings outside around the windows everywhere I wipe the cobwebs down each week and I've tried everything to get this weird poop stuff off I have sprayed it with WD-40 I have sprayed it with bleach definitely not at the same time I've tried everything I can't get rid of these specs of looks like poop I've never seen it before I'm from this town I've never had it at my house so I'm thinking it's because she lives on a lake. It's driving me crazy I've never seen anything like it. Please help if you can anybody if you know what it is or how I can take care of it please let me know. The poop stains the wood I just can't figure it out thank you so much.
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
The best way to prevent the bug poop is for the customer to implement some sort of pest control in and around the home. Often services will spray in the home as well as around the outside perimeter of the home. Note, once the pest spray has gone into effect the next two weeks will show an increase in dead bugs and poop. Then it will be far easier to clean as the bugs die off. I'm assuming the door and window frames are wood and painted with a semi-gloss paint which would allow you to use a degreaser with minimal dwell time to clean up. (Think dish soap and a non-scratch scrub sponge.)
