Are logo design grids important? The answer is yes, but with one crucial condition.. Todays logo design tutorial looks at how grids can be used, but also how to use them and how to design a logo efficiently. We also jump into Adobe Illustrator and look at grids in there as well. So half of this video is essentially an Adobe Illustrator tutorial as well.

In Illustrator, we look at the shape builder tool and how to use the shape builder tool, but in combination with a grid. The methods of using grid systems like this will really help your graphic design workflow as a graphic designer, and hopefully will show you how to professionally finish off a logo design using grids. i love how everyone has different takes on these things! one of my college professors had us START by making a grid of circles and lines and then come up with abstract designs from that, but it seems like most people do it the other way around. granted that project wasn’t for a logo, but a pattern design so maybe the “backwards” workflow makes more sense for that application? this video was really neat because it turns out i had already been sort of doing this subconsciously by making sure to repeat the same angles or increments of offset in my designs! :D

Love your videos sir... as a designer with 20 years experience there's still so much to learn! Your videos are done in a way that is easily understandable and is to absorb! Brava sir! I would like to ask if you have any content on the way you actually create your grids? Tutorial or even hints and tips? Thank you! Well, I don't use Illustrator's guides, but draw circles and vertical, horizontal and angular lines of calculative gaps to match my sketches. And, then use shape builder tool to get the design.

@@SatoriGraphics I began to design that logo in 2019 when I knew absolutely nothing of graphic design although I did have previously a creative talent with charcoal portraits and comic drawing. Since 2019, I began following the teachings of your channel and reading your suggested books in a disciplined manner. Also I went to my university library and getting to know the graphic design community in the internet. Thanks to that, that logo design transformed to a full brand identity design for my side business ☺and began generating some fans locally in my city.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. Watch the part at the end with the shape builder tool, as that's how you end up with a logo

Your content is always very professional. Except for one thing: Your slogan at the end of the videos. There's nothing wrong with "design your future today", but the way you usually say it... Fast and without conviction. It reminds me of the mandatory risk warning at the end of drug ads.
