Dear Fr. Thanking for your lovely teaching and insights .. i truly enjoyed listening to the Father's Heart and His feelings the way you put it across.. Amos 9 somehow reminded me of David's psalm 23.. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures and leadth me besides the still waters.. bring us to gather ourselves (right mind). Abba Father thank You for not being angry with us forever but relenting with Your Most tender Heart pressing us to Yourself.. Awesome Wonderful Mighty Loving God.. What a God You are.. there is None like Thee, neither are there any any works like unto Thine

It's been an enlightening journey with you, dear Fr. Warner, as you led us to understand the prophet Amos. Appreciate your painstaking earnestness with which you cover the history of the period and make the lessons learnt from the Israelites relevant to our lives today. So in the final analysis, what I gathered is that God destroyed only the wicked, idolatrous people, but saved the good, and therefore Israel continued to remain His beloved people, being prepared to receive Jesus.

For years I have looked at God's mercy as infinite and without condition. Thanks for the wakeup call Fr. Indeed, His mercy and Judgement go hand in hand. There are consequences, sometimes very serious, for what we do. I've been an avid viewer of your vlogs since covid days. May God bless you always.

At a personal level, this chaper reminds me of the prayer of contrition and the message of divine mercy. God gives us a period of mercy to come back to Him. In the act of contrition, we are reminded of God's just punishments and that we must detest our sins and that they offend God who is all good and deserving of all our love.

Dear Fr Warner, journeying through the book of Amos with you has been a memorable experience. We see God's heart saturated with love for his children, yet grieved & hurt at how far Israel has fallen. His judgements are grievous. But in the end His heart melts & He speaks of restoration to Israel where His people can look forward to days of abundance & prosperity. May our lives also be transformed & restored healing past wounds & mending our broken pieces. Thank you for your valuable teaching & blessing us. God bless & heal you.💞🙏🏻

Dear Fr Warner, Thank you for explaining Prophet Amos to us. Yes, mercy and judgement goes hand in hand. However even though God declared punishment on his people, the final word in the Book of Amos is hope. The Lord promises to raise up our ruins and rebuild us. I have always requested teachers of Scriptures to also reflect on the OT. Most only reflect on the New Testament. Thank you so much for teaching from the Old Testament.

Thank you dear Fr. Warner for walking with us the book of Prophet Amos. It seemed like you were caught up with the spirit of Amos 😊 Love doesn't mean absence of punishment... when we went wrong our parents punished us rather pruned us so that we may grow in right direction. (Today this is lacking n we see a generation of head strong ppl) God is our Mother n Father n naturally He will want us to walk towards prosperity not damnation but when we are hell bent on damnation He prunes us and often it seems painful at that time. I remember almost hating my parents for punishing us (we were a bunch of mischievous kids😅) but today I am full of gratitude towards them for not spoiling us and correcting us at the right time. 😊

Dear Father, I sometimes wonder about how God did not send any prophets in that supposedly 300-400 years of "silence" between the OT and NT. I would like to place myself living somewhere towards the beginning of these 300 years and begin to wonder as to how the Jews kept that faith in the promise of the Messiah who was to come...300 years of living encompasses almost 3 generations who lived and died without seeing the Messiah. It is amazing how Judaism survived the test of time during those years of "silence" from Our God. Perhaps it's because of a few good men/women in each of those generations who kept that spark of hope alive, and their Faith continued on, through their intervention. I find this "silence" slowly creeping on us distracted individuals today, who are falling prey to this consumeristic and material world, as a result of which, Our God is "silent" and can't be even heard in the stillness of our souls. I pray that we may realise our folly of taking Our God for granted and turn towards Him, in time, before it's too late for His eyes "to seek our harm". Thank you Father for your teaching.

Reflection: Much to do with Jesus' identity in this week's readings. Of course his is not unlike Amos', whose identity also may be worth inquiry. "Flee to the land of Judah and there earn your bread by prophesying, " ... "I am not a prophet." And during that day in Capernaum, Christ's cross was casting a long shadow. I think of the vedele cross, the one the Pope wears. Today's readings conclude with Saint John the Baptist's disciples inquiring with Jesus about something maybe not tertiary to their own identity, why they are not fasting. Their former leader was a prophet, and more than a prophet.
