"Move!" That is classic IT. We still use that line here at work. I laugh watching this every time. Perfectly captures the IT mindset.

@@nurk_barry oh for sure, I agree. And the other employees are definitely spot on. This is almost like a helpdesk guy's power fantasy. They're saying some of the things I _wanted_ to say, especially on bad days, but I liked my coworkers too much (most of fhem, most of the time) lol.

Jackie Chan isn't even trying to hide his laughter. It blends in greatly to the sketch, like the character's laughing along with Nick Burns at how "stupid" everyone is.

Brings back so many memories, especially when the beeper goes off lol. Always end up telling them to move, because its just easier than trying to talk them through it. I dont envy tech support over the phone. Worked tech support at a lot of major tech corporations as well as sys admin and network admin. It had its perks, the companies paid for a lot of my certs like A+, MCP and MCSE.

I wanted an iMac so bad, their desktop and laptops were so beautiful, fast, and smooth to operate compared to the clunky 2000-01 Dells. Now that I'm a 30 something adult I got my own MacBook pros whoop-whoop!:D

@@seamusquain2706 the IT crowd is great and is not pure satire, it’s a good sitcom that isn’t awful like big bang theory. As an IT guy that doesn’t treat people like shit and has actual social skills (though not all do), I still love this. I’m American and don’t think we could do the It crowd as well as the brits. They made a pilot that bombed.

I got into IT before they called it IT. One of my new assistants wore a white lab coat and a tie and talked like that, but was more polite. His sarcastic jabs almost seemed like compliments.

If you had to deal with all the stupid questions we get by people who copy paste numbers into spreadsheets professionally, you too would be annoyed. I had to explain to a lady how electricity worked and the fact that a heater power cable FUSED to her power strip with burn marks was a problem.

First thing I do at a job is get in with IT and then people start coming to me for help. I’m in sales and learn how to trouble shoot most things immediately so I’m not bothering them lol YOURE WELCOME IT 😂

As a man who did this for a living and managed an IT consulting business I can say this is 100% accurate. I can also say that nick burns' attitude is the correct one and this is what happens when you have to deal with PEBKAC problems all day

I'm not sure, but perhaps due to them being blocked in USA/UK and perhaps other countries... super annoying to have it actually ON UTube, and legit, from the owner, but yet only viewable in some countries, but not in others...

I admit. Jackie was a great idea for this skit, especially since New IT guys never find IT jokes when training so we get blasted with all the same ones when we start and its great.

Between this skit on SNL and the British show IT Crowd, it's hilariously accurate other than the part where he was rudely yelling the users to move. If you did that in real life, you'd not be able to keep that job for long.

SNL Nick burns videos should be under educational as well. Every profession has a Nick Burns. As a master physical Trainer / Instructor, Firefighter and Medic; I use Nick Burns as an example of what not to do when teaching new personal trainers, medics.

Ever notice that when Fallon was the lead in a sketch, he never broke character by laughing? But when he was a side character, he always cracked up (almost ruined the cowbell skit). It was all a strategy to make it all about him, like a freakin 8 year old. “Look at me dad!” He’s a narcissist.

None of the questions were about her; they were all about him. “Do you watch the show?” “Isn’t it exciting to be on my show?” They did a little skit where she threw him a pitch and he made all about his catching abilities. I learned nothing about an interesting person with a compelling story. That’s the last time I watched it.
