Saudi Arabia’s authorities must immediately and unconditionally release Manahel al-Otaibi, a 29-year-old fitness instructor and women’s rights activist, sentenced to 11 years in prison. This directly contradicts the authorities’ narrative of reform and women’s empowerment.
Sign the petition to demand Manahel’s release and all those unjustly detained in Saudi Arabia for peacefully exercizing their human rights. amn.st/6054j3zhQ

What does this have to do with Saudi Arabia? They are at odds with the Palestinian people (1-2% approval rating among Palestinians), their closest allies are Is… and the U.S. So where are all of the pro-Is… people at?

Am a Muslim, and am also a part of amnesty and I want to say something about Manahel al-Otaibi Firstly in this case,We don't need to do anything . Secondly we also don't need to take any action . Because..... She breaks the cultural rules and boundaries the most holy place of MUSLIM Countries No one have rights to change the cultural rules and boundaries of any country If she is right.... Then am going to take an action in USA like Why USA's girls didn't wear Abaya Look, the main purpose of abaya is to protect every single women or girl If any women or a girl didn't wear that type of thing like abaya So, automatically she takes attraction of a lot of MENs and Boys for sexual harassment. So, why you people always try to goes against wearing abaya Your main purpose is just to protect women rights So, wearing abaya is also protect all women U need to understand this scenario. In the End , Soudi Govt need to give High punishment to This girl Because she breaks or try to change the rule or boundaries of an religious Islamic country. On other hand ,if i try to break any rule in USA or other European countries So, that country also give me a huge punishment. So, By this scenario Soudi Govt have rights to give an huge punishment to this girl.

@@its_mirza_j The whole earth is God's creation, not just pieces of the Middle East. If the insanely wealthy rulers of SA do not respect or follow the teachings of the Q'ran, it means they have loosened up the rules where it suits them, and applied them very strictly to others. This girl is being punished for rebellion and insubordination. Some people are not convinced of the effectiveness of "punishment". Women are convinced by reason not by force. Also, as for the effectiveness of the abaya, a beautiful female is even more attractive wearing that garment, to my eyes, than the girls l often see inappropriately wearing beachwear at airports etc. Also, you failed to address my other points. Unless SA helps the Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine in their hour of extreme need, all talk of religious correctness flies out the window.

Its horrible that she was abused. I also have to say the west has failed completely with their feminism so i can understand that SA do not want it to spread to them. I htink they should have dealt with her in a very diffrent way and not inculded violence at all, but it has to be added that SA has the right to not want western problems in their country.

Your mind is full of prejudice and biased thinking. First, you don't break rules in the USA, you break LAWS, and if you break a law in the USA, you won't get a big punishment, only a tiny one. Besides, there is no laws in USA of cultural matter, only things that make sense and that are probably crimes as well in SA. Second, it's about the freedom of the person, she is not harming anyone for not wearing a piece of clothe that you invented, was she born with that? No, right? Thinking that wearing that is to protect her from men means that the men in your country are uncivilized criminals that should be in jail if that is their normal behaviour. Men in many other countries (not only western) respect women as an equal and they have no need to wear anything at all. But still, if that was like that, it is HER decision to be exposed like that, it's HER body, she is not doing harm to anyone. There are muslim countries where it is not obligatory to wear that, and guess what, both women and men live happier, because they live just how they were born, as equals. People like you in your country justify crimes to the human rights just like thousands of years ago, with prejudice, biased thinking, all for a stupid book like any other (yes, the Bible too, I don't care) and with a lack of critical thinking that is incredibly scaring and a menace to the world.

You’re simply wrong if a women doesn’t want to wear a piece of clothing because of an old pedophile that raped a 9 year old and beheaded people said she should wear it, it’s not for her protection that’s a lie it’s for control over her when she deserves to be independent, it’s not her fault If men can’t control themselves if they see a women without an Abbaya if they cannot control themselves they’re not men every man needs self control it’s not a women’s responsibility to cover herself so she won’t be harassed or assaulted by men. Luckily Saudi is realizing this and will soon change for the better and our that horrible religion behind where it belong (IN HISTORY)
