With the number of people addicted to opiates and heroin steadily rising in Northeast Wisconsin, the search is on for treatments to help people get clean.

Good job keep up the good work. I just started taking suboxone for my addiction only problem I'm having is it makes my stomach upset for a while after I have taken the suboxone. Any suggestions on how I could prevent this from happening?

I been on suboxone for 8 months now and I feel like I finally have my life back!! No more chasing a high! No more worried about having enough pills to get thru the day! No more ups and downs from running out! No more risking my freedom! I feel so free! And if I have to take it for the rest of my life, I will! Because it’s a small price to pay to be free and clean!

Great job. Keep up the great work. Suboxone works. Im on it. So what. I get up each AM. Have my coffee. Take 1 pill. And its off for a new day. Life can be good. If all it takes is 1 pill each day. Im on board. Works for me. Good job.

But coming off it is just as bad if you allow then to boost you up over 1 strip per day. You need to start weaning off then nobody should be on them for a year but doctors are leaving people on them for years

Ive been on suboxone 3 years now. Same story with a neck injury. Started taking a prescription pain med. 2 pills a day. Loved every minute of it. People no to well where that was going. I stopped at 2 pills. And went on suboxone. I started at a clinic. Had to show up every morning. Anyway that was then. Ive been with a great group for 2 years now. All done with a smart phone. Pill counts and testing. Now my point. The gov needs to step in and make this available immediately to all. Make it $1.00 a strip. Over the counter as fast as possible. People are dying everyday for no reason. This is a great tool to keep people of drugs If i have to be on this the rest of my life. So what. It works. Make no mistake. I would put a bullet in my head if i had to go through WDs. I know it. Ive tried. If someone from the gov is reading this please fix this. Dont make it harder make it easier. People want to get better. Make it so all doctors can prescribe this. This should be handed out like asprin. You make the strips so unaffordable. Guess what. An addict will do what ever it takes to avoid WD. That means Robbery, Selling themselves on the street, and murder. Shall i go on. Please help.

Suboxone isn't for everyone...i know that . ..but for me personally...it has saved my life i have no cravings at all. I was going to do methadone but I decided to do suboxone wow it has helped me so much I'm in an outpatient program and half the girls there tell me they swear by the vivitrol shot...they say it's way better than methadone and suboxone...fot me I'm still unsure i need time to figure it out

@@justsayin108 Hi I'm sorry for the late reply... so you are on Subutex?? I really wanted to try to be on it but how do you switch from suboxone to subutex ??? I know suboxone is not for everyone and trust me I know tons of people who prefer methadone than the subs but how could I switch to subutex only?? I mean like I said suboxone works for me I also do not take it every day. Probably something I shouldnt tell my doctor 😂🤣 but for me I actually get a high from it if I do not take it daily Anyways, let me know how you can get on subutex instead of suboxone tell your sister to try subutex too I just want to see if I can switch but most likely I dont know

Suboxone saved my life bigtime. I was on methadone treatment about 5 years. Stopped that shit and in a month i was back using heavy opiates. Now been a year in Suboxone treatment without relapses.

Im on. subs ..But a very small amt.been weened off slowly from 16 Mg's down to 2 a day.im getting there.And happy for this drugs help.And the doctors who ha e helped me.

You should be very proud of yourself. 2mgs. Im on 8. Tapering. Would it really matter if you took 2mgs a day for the rest of your life? No. It would not. As long as you feel good. And have a good life. Im proud of you. Have you ever skipped a day?

I don't understand being clean. If you're taking another drug to get off of a drug and it has basically the same effects and you're not clean you're just addicted to another drug. Instead of taking illegal drugs you're taking legal drugs. So my question is how does it actually help you get completely off of everything?

If you don’t understand, you shouldn’t comment. I’m not a druggy. But cancer made me dependent and suboxone allowed me to get my life back together. So, that I could figure out how to get off everything the right way.

basically the same effects?? okay so you just admitted you have zero fuckin clue what you're talking about. suboxone can't get you high. it can't even mellow you out. it just makes you not have 24/7 life consuming urges to use opiates. its not "basically the same thing" it's a life saving MEDICATION and as a 17 year old struggling with fentanyl addiction it saved my life. im 10 months sober thanks to suboxone.

im sick and have liver problems, the pain is really bad ,i was wondering if it would work as a pain killer ,soo i can eat ,my work wont accept a medical marijuana card due to insurance, might ask the doctor about this but idk

skank hunt42 buddy it does work for pain. You should ask for the butrans patch if you're not red flagged as an addict. But I take suboxone for pain, depression, anxiety, bi-polar. It's a miracle drug for me. I don't mean to sound harsh but I've been through it all and I will kill myself without it.

Suboxone is great but it should be easier and cheaper to obtain. If heroin addicts could walk into a pharmacy and buy it without a prescription at a price they could afford, there would be significantly less users/overdoses. Of course it could be somewhat regulated in the same way that pseudoephedrine is.

Shelby Hetrick It saved mine too. Was a opiate addict for 26 years. Heroin cost me everything of value in my life. Thanks to this drug though, I feel human again and free.

I just started taking suboxone and it's definitely a miracle the only problem I have with it is each time I take my film I get an upset nausea feeling in my stomach for a few hours afterwards. Any suggestions on what I can do to stop this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Luckily I have never experienced this while taking Suboxone. I have heard some people who are in a similar situation and have either change dosages, seen there doctor and got a anti nausea medication for a few weeks while there body adjusts or just waited until there body got used to the Suboxone. Either way I would speak with your doctor.

It can definitely cause constipation I would take a stool softener the night before. You got to admit though the stomach ache your feeling is nothing compared to the dope sickness you felt before. It does cost pretty bad constipation. It's a good thing to you pop it under your tongue when you first wake up and just lay in bed until it completely dissolves and you get the full effect of the medicine. That usually takes about 20 minutes. You might be swallowing it too fast and when you eat the stuff it doesn't work. I wish you all the best

Suboxone seems worse. For 19 years I have been on 100 micrograms of fentynl; butrans in either 5; 10; or 15 mcg/hr; OxyContin 60 extended release; 30 oxycodone quick release and 20 oxycodone quick release. I don’t abuse or look for a high. That would be irresponsible. I take so the pain can be handled for daily functioning in any situation. I don’t understand how men or women die. Am I missing some part of the overall picture?

I was on suboxone for 2 years and when it came time to get off of it I went thru the worst withdraws I have have ever gone thru physically they lasted 2 months. Your better off trying to do it cold turkey if you truly want to be clean you can do it. Suboxone is just as bad as the drugs your trying to come off of.

brother I don't want to sound like some people never be taken negatively with my comment but I'm person who has had opiates embedded into my DNA from a very young age everyday for years up until I started a family with someone had a little girl got sober for about a year relapse back on the painkillers that mommy had all of Anson uncles and I love you in there with me whenever you're selling your pills for them but as time goes on you kind of just figure out what you are and what's up with life and then God blessed me with this medication that allows me to not be sick of course because of the narcotic thats in it and of course he has this medicine is still abused but if used correctly people can really get their lives back and I think it is such a beautiful thing and I think Jesus Christ for this amen.

Mostly drug users are don’t have money living on streets. If government wants to fight addiction give them free .. cut down crimes and drug use in this country. Just the idea l read this medication works and much cheaper then rehabilitation centers.

Brigs you closer to your higher power to! Who is Jesus Christ and his teachings for me! He endured the 12 stations of the Cross..It took a long time! I see the 12 stations in my life as months it will take to get over the withdrawals.. Addiction isn't a quick fix!

Congrats. Keep going to your 12-steps meeting, but keep your shitty attitude to yourself. Why do you have to attack people that found another way to live their life successfully than yours? 95% cannot keep sober with 12-step treatment. Do you think its better for them to just die just because YOU think having a medicine, that does not make you high, not being clean? I god damn hate the 12-step movement. Would love them if they could stop harassing people that choose different paths. My friend just died from an overdose. He stayed at the 12-step rehab. He was going to start subs treatment, but the fucking therapists told him that "a drug is a drug" and now he is dead.

Ok I didn't mean to offend you or what you're going through, so that's certainly not my intention. I'm only saying that being on a substance does not equate to being clean of drugs, because buprenorphine is a drug. In fact, it's way more powerful than many people know, and you know that if you've taken it or have withdrawn from it. You can't be clean when you're on a substance that powerful. And you said it yourself, it's a medicine. That's exactly what drugs are.

dan k to be on suboxone cost a patient an average of $5 per day. As opposed to 50 to $100 a day or more to use opiates illegally. Not to mention the fact that the patient is no longer in danger of overdosing when on Suboxone. You are one of those pathetic never minded uninformed mean-spirited humans that do not deserve to breathe air. Suboxone saved my my life in my wife's life. Come to Mississippi and my clean sober living ass will knock you the f*** out.
