Diamond died in Jan. 2021 after battling stage four small cell carcinoma of the lungs. The actress also breaks down the show’s homage to her role in 1995’s ‘Showgirls.’ Plus, Berkley reacts to the return of Lark Voorhies, who plays Lisa Turtle! The season 2 premiere of ‘Saved By the Bell’ is now streaming on Peacock.

first off showgirls , is an underrated movie. its so in your face! it was ahead of its time. Nomi was a strong woman that we hardly got see depicted in movies. this was a coming of age movie for me. its a classic.

Yes thank you it was one of my favorite movies and I’m a dancer so being a fan of the movie I was doing the star dust routines 😂😂😂😂.. I think some scenes were cheesy and did not make sense but nobody can deny her acting and Passion .. and it was wrong for producers .. and directors .. writers let her take the fall on her own .. she went threw hell .. depression ..thought about taking her own life .. I’m glad she bounced backed with her lifetime movies and endorsements before saved by the bell reboot 👈🏼

Being in my mid 40's, I used to watch this show every Saturday when it originally aired. When I decided to try to watch this reboot, I was sceptical (90210....). But I got to say, they're doing this right! It's so good and so unexpected. I'm a fan again 30 years later!

Elizabeth Berkley is hilarious on the new SBTB. I loved the Showgirls bit. I love all the easter eggs and inside jokes. It's SOOO smart! And funny! I think they'll get a season 3. I hope they do. I loved Lark coming back. I hope next season they bring back Stacy Carosi and TORI! How can they ignore Tori!?? I'm all about this show.

I think it's nice that despite burning some bridges with that cast (except for with Mario), that they still honor him. He was a big part of the show, and to die so young is sad, so good on them for paying tribute to Dustin.

She did not deserve all ( _any_ ) of that vitriol and condemnation directed at her back in the mid-1990s. Though not necessarily a hugh fan of her, I am glad she was not driven into permanent retirement from show business 😒😊🎬

Watched showgirls last night with my fiancé....it’s an amazing movie, amazing performance, she is so fantastic....the friendships, the glitz the glam, the drama.....and she and the women are so incredibly beautiful in it...wow! 🌹 I recently saw the original L word for the first time....binge watched the whole thing....and I got so excited when I saw Elizabeth in it! I so screamed! Hehe great show....hehe Have a great day y’all.

It's no one's fault that Dustin self destructed. I'm not blaming him either, he was an actor who was type cast and couldn't find his niche after Saved by the Bell went off the air. He felt defeated and just couldn't recover and find a new market for his career. But I'm so very happy that Lark hasn't destroyed herself with plastic surgery. She was the prettiest out of the gang if you ask me. And How High is still one of my all-time favs lol. Showgirls is a classic.

Nah, they did Dustin dirty. They did a 2 minute "tribute". It was some bullshit. They knew damn well he was upset about not being included, they didn't include Lark either until she did the Dr. Oz interview and Dustin passed. He apologized and none of them would forgive him. They didn't have to even make him a permanent character on the reboot, but they could have at least brought him back for some cameos. I find it so disgusting they are acting as if they wish he were on the show and saying these things now, AFTER he is gone. RIP Dustin. We all know Save By the Bell was nothing without Screech and Lark

Dustin was the youngest member of the saved by the bell cast Elizabeth Mario Mark Tiffany and lark our all 2 years older than him they mistreated and ostracised him and lark they both deserve better treatment should of been in Season 1 of the saved by the bell reboot and im the same age as Dustin he was a comedic genius Samuel screech powers an iconic character he will be loved and missed 😔😭🙏💖

I could only hope that Elizabeth would read this but I love the movie Showgirls and hate how they drug her name through the dirt for making it.... then Demi Moore makes a very similar movie right afterwards that even isn't as good as Showgirls was and she gets nothing but praise for her role??? It's such bs....

Agreed but Demi Moore was already an acclaimed actress, with several successful films under her belt and her body transformation, was more praised and talked about than the quality of the film itself. She was in her " femme fatale" character era after all, so it worked. Elizabeth, on the other hand, was a goofy teen TV show actress trying to become a big screen actress, killing off her image with no transition whatsoever. Nobody was taking her seriously as an actress and such a movie could not help settle a good, credible image. Her acting was bad in Showgirls. I'm sure she was traumatised by the backlash and it was hard and certainly somehow unfair, but i also think she could have rebounded making another type of cinema and slowly but surely gone where she wanted to go, but didn't have the shoulders or the drive for it.

Elizabeth was mad and talking crap about diamond because of that stupid book and now she feels bad about him??!! At least Mark and Mario kept in contact with Dustin. I just wish they get a little bit more for screech. I thought screech was the best on the show

To be honest the tribute for Screech fell flat. The only actors who show believable emotion was Tiffany and Mario. They could have put more time into creating the scene longer then a spaghetti sandwich toast.

...sadly your correct. They hated his guts for what he said in his book. But hey..if you want to keep your job on tv...you gotta put on a smile and say good things! I think out of the whole cast...Mario Lopez had made amends with Dustin even after he said that ML had date raped a girl and the network paid that person off.

How can Elizabeth Berkeley say with a straight face that Dustin Diamond was a "brilliant comedy actor"??? I understand that she is attempting to be nice because he died this year, but I don't think I have ever heard anyone praise Screech for his comedy or acting skills. It always seemed as though Screech's entire purpose on the show was to do stupid things and annoy all of the other characters on the show.

I'm rewatching the old shows, and I never appreciated his comedy, but you can see when he plays different, serious roles sometimes within the show, that he is doing comedic acting most of the time.
