Increases the time that the car is advertised and shortens the time between paying out, and receiving income. The description will state restoration underway, and update photos can be added as work progresses. The initial shots tend to be close ups of things that are already OK and won't be changing.

@@MENQN A couple of years ago a study was done on the daily habits and vicissitudes of 2CV drivers. It was established that many 2CV drivers lived in tents mostly in Wales : they ate brown rice , often had ginger beards and frequently read poetry . Seamus Heaney seemed to be a particular favourite. After this I went down to Wales and spent the evening at the owners club in Abergavent . I have to say those blokes were far more fun and interesting than me flashy BMW pals I usually spend time with . It made me think I should trade me Beamer for a 2CV and maybe think about smokin some gunja

Love watching Gus and Will. I've always found French automotive design engineers to be non-conformist and innovative. The 2CV is a brilliant design for its time. Made for self-maintenance and ruggedness, based on minimal use of materials. Lightweight with a small economical engine. Unfortunately the materials technology and rustproofing of the 50's thru 70's were not geared for longevity. So we've lost a lot of these cars. But they are a hell of a fun drive !

My first car was a 1994 Citröen AX, the 2cv great-grandson!? It had a headgasket-blowing 1.4 diesel engine on it but despite that, I travel all over Europe and it was a blast. Unfortunately the block eventually fatally cracked and I had to let it go. It was originally my mother's who got it after struggling with rough country roads on her beloved Mini. She loved the Mini but her back didn't like it so much. The AX was a breeze of fresh air, flying over potholes like they were nothing. I miss it terribly. It was cheap to run (4l/100km) and easy to maintain... apart from the problematic overheating issues due to the badly designed head gasket interface.

One of the best and fun cars i have ever owned £90 LHD 425cc it had 25000 i did another 40000 only did sparks, alternator, fan belt that snapped continued using me girlfriends tights points and breaks front and rear drums on both oh and shocks, only grunting expense was the 52mm socket for the rear drums, last but not least the drivers window clip which being a left hooker was half the price, passenger side over in uk. Would love another but just can’t aford that sort of money, it would never go down now but i did a window cleaning job once in a while for a friend who had angina, a 10ft ladder strapped vertically through the open roof onto that cross bar and seat leg frame, that was freedom.

when you re-rubber the seats put thick cardboard from large cardboard boxes over the rubbers before adding the foam and then the covers, it gives the seats more support, I restored a 2cv6 about ten years ago and had to sell it on eventually , wish I never did now. if you rock the car and it makes a mooing sound the suspension cans want lubricating as the paper disks inside dry out pump some castor oil into the cans and the noise will stop. its a common fix amongst 2cv owners. The engine is designed for 15w 40 oil. The hardest job is replacing the fuel tank sender unit if you have to its a fuel tank out job, check behind the rear wings for rust on the inner wing panels as they rust here badly to. god help the person that needs to replace the windscreen scuttle panel its a job and a half when it starts to leak in the rain and dont have any hopes of more than 50mph with the roof down or youll lose it. Ten years ago I paid £300 just for the seat rubbers or donuts as you call them they were a pound each at the time cheapest available in the UK.
