That little goblin girl really was capable, was a waste to kill her.

Her "I will not be slandered!" is the single best line delivery in the entire game. Her entire dialog delivery in this scene is phenomenal. Larian needs to just do the mea culpa, admit they bungled the Act I decision tree around the tieflings/druid grove and patch in the PC mod that causes her to flee combat at 25% health when figthiing in the grove. Tiefling genocide is still there for players so inclined but betraying her at the grove and defeating her in combat to send her humiliated back to Kethric would add even more dramatic weight to this scene and any subsequent choice to save/redeem her.

I made a Drow Durge character with doing the shittiest and most evil options fully in mind, but when I saw this cutscene for the first time I was like Oh hell no, no one is killing my unconventionally beautiful Murder Wife! Edit: Also spared the Goblins.

I really wish there was a way to gain her as a follower without having to sacrifice the grove. You lose soo much when you attack the grove, Dammon, access to unique rewards in Act 2 & 3, Karlach romance, I think Wyll & Karlach leaves your party permanently, the rest of the party will hate you; All you gain is Minthara and the 3 parasites she gifts you. I would love if you could lead her to the grove, turn on her and when she hits low health you go into a cutscene where you have a choice of killing her and gaining her armor, parasite, & the Lyre as a reward + the stuff from the grove as normal, OR you can have mercy on her and take her a prisoner. After the party when the tieflings depart for act 2, she'll break out of her prison and head to act 2 where you can save her from her fate & then again when she is being wiped. What you would lose is the ability to call the drider at the start of the Shadow Cursed Lands, which significantly inhibits your ability to traverse the land as you need that moonlantern or the blessing from the fairy inside. Another choice could just be to ask the Dream visitor to block the Absolute's influence over her until she starts to question her faith, then is either captured or you can tell her to flee with her life (Although that one is a little against her nature.)

Its such a shame that Minthara is actually a good person deep down, as the only way to recruit her is to slaughter the grove and permanently lose several party members and plot threads in the process. I wish there was a way for her to join without that happening, because she could have so many good interactions with Halsin and Wyll. It feels so weird to see her try to go through a redemption arc during an evil playthrough, when it isn't even an option for good characters.

I slapped the entire goblin camp to hell and back, but left her knocked out on the floor with 1 hp. The quests progressed normally and even Halsin said "good, now that they are dead the grove is safe". I'm on my way to Moonrise Towers to see if leaving her knocked out instead of killing her is going to have any effect on being able to recruit her... I hope it does, cause i want her on my party but i don't like playing evil :(

I am currently testing the Daughter of Lolth mod. It is said that it lets you recruit her without sacrificing any tiefliings, druids or losing Karlach and Wyll. So far it worked, she didn’t die, she just disappeared when i defeated her I’m close to entering Moonrise tower, see if she’ll be there :D

In my current playthrough we've got this dialogue where Ketheric is ordering Minthara's death, so we went to the prison but Minthara wasn't there. It's the second playthrough where she just disappeared

After seeing this scene a second time i relise that i forgot thorm was technically your subirdinite if you were durge and says you should kill the goblins becuse of your creative genius, because he knows you were a pire bhaalspan

Edit: it's patched now can't recruit her this way. So stop kagha from doing ritual of thorns. Knock out minthra. Convince tieflings to leave before attack. Stop the raid by killing goblins. Everyone is happy and not dead minthra is recruitable in act2

I helped Mintara to kill the druids, and the cult of Absolute to kidnap the priestess, now I come to the Moon Tower, and there is no katzena with Mintara, and she is sitting in prison and repeats "I serve the Absolute" and nothing else, what should I do to recruit her?

I shot the bridge when Minthara was on it for a quick end to the quest. I regret it now. She perished in the chasm! I hope she will somehow be at Moonrishe in Act 2

She and Shadowheart have similiar understandning of being bad. Theyre both afraid but wont make them stop from doing bad stuff.

I really, really need 3 things in this game: a way to save Karlach, a way to cure Astarion(seriously how was this not done in base game) and a way to recruit/redeem Minthara that doesn’t feel like breaking the game.

I would had made it possible to have Minthara and Halsin as allies. I would also increase the party size to seven, which actually is doable if you just shrunk the avatars a smidgen you can fit all seven. You cannot have Halsin and/or Minthara without replacing one of your six original crews. But you also cannot pick up one of Wither's chosen without doing the same. Halsin and Minthara appear to have a similarity as there is between Wyll and Karlach when you think about it. So it should be possible to have them both. I like games where you have more than one team like in Final Fantasy 6 or the ending battle with Final Fantasy 7. Of course for that to work effectively, you need two more followers. Team 1: Protag, Lae'zel, Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Wyll and Karlach. Team 2: Wither's Chosen, Halsin, Minthara, Jaheira, Minsc, Emperor/Baldaran and Orpheus. Perfect. Also you don't need to have them in this order and Ideally Emperor and Orpheus would be with the Protag not in the second party, which means you would have two from team 1 in team 2 instead, ideally Karlach or Lae'zel and Gale or Wyll as you the former function very similarly as do the later two to some extent. I suspect that Orpheus is an Eldritch Knight making it inconsequential if you give up either a Wyll, Gale, Karlach or Lae'zel. The Emperor is a Mindflayer and so does a lot of psionic abilities. A lot of these abilities act similarly to that of a Warlock's and a Warlock is simply a wizard with some fighting ability and less spells. So again, you can easily replace two of the characters with the Emperor/Baldaran as you can with Orpheus and it wouldn't change that much. Ideally Orpheus is better suited to replace either Lae'zel or Karlach (Lae'zel if you made her an Eldritch Knight), while the Emperor/Baldaran is better suited to replace either Gale or Wyll. Wait, you should be able to get Emperor and Orpheus as allies too? Why not. The Emperor and Orpheus ultimately play the same role and Orpheus is even willing to trust you after having you turned into a Mindflayer. So the Emperor's actions really don't make any sense. Plus having the Emperor/Baldaran wanting to return back into what he or she was before being a mindflayer would make an ideal part 2 to this game. Also deciding what is the Emperor/Baldaran's gender works quite well in similar regard to Revan in Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. I would prefer the Protag not being a Dragonborn, which I know ruins why the Dark Urge is a Dragonborn. I'll say this simply, you don't get every playable race in your party. If you choose the Dark Urge Dragonborn, you don't get a hobbit, dwarf or gnome as a playable character. Also having Jaheira, a second Druid is a bit too much. Ideally there should be a new class for Jaheira that mixes fighter with druid besides the obvious ranger that Minsc exhibits. Something like Sage perhaps? Make Jaheira a sage, who is capable of being a blend of being a druid (without the subclass added abilities) and a fighter (also without the subclass added proficiencies) along with your choice of warlock, wizard, sorcerer or cleric abilities as a subclass. So it is not the same thing as a ranger. *Sage subclasses.* Sage of Wisdom = Sage with Wizard Archetype (no added proficiencies, just similar overall proficiency in spells) Sage of Power = Sage with Warlock Archetype (no added proficiencies, just similar overall proficiency in spells) Sage of Courage = Sage with Sorcerer Archetype (no added proficiencies, just similar overall proficiency in spells) Sage of Grace = Sage with Cleric Archetype (no added proficiencies, just similar overall proficiency in spells) Choosing a subclass will alter what attribute impact the spells that you use, so choose wisely, no pun intended as wisdom may not be the best in your game play. Nevertheless, character I prefer as my Protag is the pacifistic Redhead Drow with heterochromia (red left eye and yellow right eye), Fiona Du'Varia. The cutest elf and drow (as drows are elves) you have ever seen. Pure pacifist and childhood friend of Minthara. They are about the same age. She is the most unlikely Dark Urge and even more even though she is a sorceress, she doesn't use any attack spells (except for those of the fire element and only when she is in critical need or the Dark Urge takes full control over her). She has insane battle damage with her spells but you won't have immediate access to them whenever you like as Fiona is a kind drow. You will never ever use her spells to harm others until it is absolutely necessary such as when she is low in health. Also her physical attacks will rarely register a hit. Darkness from Konosuba is more reliable. What is she good for? She can caste abjuration spells and they have an added effect or duration due to her pacificism. She can also caste cure wounds and similar spells of the sort and she can use it as a catrip that she can cast pretty much endlessly. She also will faint at the sight of blood. The best part about her is that she fits like a glove in how the story is structured around the Dark Urge as a good and unfortunate character. When she kills that squirrel and realizes she did it, you have the option for her to overly dramatic by holding it in the air and crying about it like she was the most devout druid.

Getting Minthara is so poorly designed. No reason you cannot get her on a good playthrough. Good thing we have mods.
