SAVING PIGS FROM HUGE RATTLESNAKE!

Saving rescue pigs from huge rattlesnake! Or, actually, the reality is I saved this rattlesnake from the pigs!! Believe it or not, pigs are known to kill and eat rattlesnakes! Julie is part feral hog and she definitely had her eye on this snake! I reallocated the snake a little farther away on the property. Then more of the usual sanctuary vlog and taking care of the animals!!

It is their environment, their home. I am Choctaw and I was raised to respect all life. Only take what you absolutely need from Earth and remember certain environments are not even meant for us I.E. The oceans, the sky. Now Land we are meant to live on we’re are terrestrial h beings but remember we are sharing it with animals who have just as much rights to live as we do. In fact I believe we are the planet’s shepherd’s like you are to your land Chris & Gabby. You two do a wonderful job. The rattlesnake was gorgeous and just being a rattlesnake. Ty for recognizing that and caring for him as well as your pigs and goats.

I feel the same frustration when people complain about gators who then get removed, relocated to a sanctuary or killed. If you're so afraid of gators, move to a different state.

If they’re so concerned about their kids and family being hurt then teach them when they go outside to avoid heavily covered bush and to back away if you hear a rattle, if they can’t understand that then they’re too young to be out playing by themselves, thank you for always educating and saving the snake from your pigs 😂

I appreciate how you use these types of moments as a teaching tool. We moved out of the city and now have 6 acres. When you move and build on new property you get what comes with it! You moved into their territory and should respect that. We have snakes, coyotes, deer, armadillos, squirrels etc. I love all of them even though the coyotes do scare me!

"Kill the animal" as a solution to human encroachment into their territory just gets me angry and sad at the same time. Like when people get mauled by bears, cougars, bison etc trying to get a selfie and the NPS rangers etc go and hunt down the animal because it "no longer fears humans". Well duh. You broke into the animal's "home", antagonized it to the point it felt threatened and decided to defend itself. The animal was doing what is instinctive for it and as a result, is killed. Humans make me so sad at times. Anyway Chris & Gabby another great video. Much love & continued success to the both of you!

The amount of knowledge you two put out there is amazing and truly appreciated. I only recently moved to Florida and one of my concerns is the venomous snakes. We have very few in Massachusetts in comparison where I spent most of my life. I always knew to simply walk away from snakes. I have been told by neighbors the ones to be aware of are the pigmy rattlers because they are small and are tough to see. They are only as issue in the summer with all the rain.

Happy to help! And yes pygmies bite the most people as they’re so small and well camouflaged, thankfully they’re not typically considered life threatening, but it’ll definitely ruin your day. Good footwear and watching where you put your hands helps the most

That is a beautiful Rattlesnake that is just doing his job! I am impressed with your Hook Skills! When I lived where we had Canebrakes, I kept an empty trash can upside down and ready when my dog would locate one and give me the alarm. Out I would go with my stick and can, and take them to the back of the 7 aceres near Ravenel, SC.

My uncle used to have a photo of an Eastern Diamondback they found on their property in Green Cove Springs. They had someone like you come out to remove it. That snake was every bit 7 feet long. In the photo the wrangler, who was about 6'2". has the snake's tail, holding it above his head & there's easily another foot of the snake on the ground. And it was thick, too.

Very interesting developments. It is mosquito season so I guess your genetically-modified ones are working quite well as I'm spraying 30 gallons or more per acre for fleas, termites, mosquitoes, mange, lice... I really want a fancy fogger b/c in no-wind it is the best & if you can afford the IG-regulators then you could probably use them in all the enclosures as they're safe for most animals. I wish I knew how to grow both out budgets.
