Excellently done without your choice of music or a PIP of you talking... Both have their place and time, but tutorials is not necessarily the correct location for either, IMHO.

Your instruction at the 10:15 mark was a big help for me. I have installed Ubuntu server in the past, and I never noticed that! Plus, I looked at another Ubuntu server install video on KZfaq, and he didn't mention it at all! Thank you : )

Great video! My two cents If using DHCP, best practice is to make sure your server always keeps the same IP by making an IP reservation in your router.

I wish it was this easy now. For me, it wont let me create an EXT2 or FAT32 partition to install GRUB. So now I have to install desktop and do all this manually, as GRUB only supports EXT2

Thanks! Find the ip address of the server that you got done installing and see if you can type that ip in on another computer on your local network. If you can't reach it you might need to allow some port forwarding on port 80 through your router (locally).

My installer keeps erroring everytime I try to install server 22.04. Anyone else also have this issue? The pc I'm trying to install it to is quite old but I doubt that that is the reason for the errors. Really frustrating.... edit: nvm just solved the issue. got it installed but now it's stuck at this: 14:40

Is it possible to store my games on the server, but access them via steam? Is the drive simply inaccessible from desktop GUI?

You can create a network storage server with Ubuntu server. I don't know what you mean by "access" tho. Look at SAMBA or NAS for Ubuntu.

First off thanks for the tutorial! I have a really old computer setup now like this but was wondering do you have any other videos or ideas of other things to put on it? Trying to learn by doing and am looking for other things besides http for it. I did set up file hosting on it also

Thanks for the video. It's weird that the installer leaves half of the disk free by default. Specially if you are using LVM, there is not reason for it.

Dear SavvyNik, Current, i has Dell server run Os Ubuntu 22.04. in the future, I will setup one more server run Os Ubuntu 22.04 to run in parallel, for the purpose of redundancy and backup. If the first dies server, there is still second replace. but, I don't know the steps how to configure, set up and synchronize data for the two servers. May can you and everyone help me. so i skipped connecting to the internet when installing bc i couldnt figure it out until i rewatched this. However I cant go back to that screen so how do i connect my server to the internet now? anytime i seach it up online i just get generic router reconnection stuff

Hey Im trying to get ubuntu server onto my dell t410 tower server and when I try to boot ubuntu from my flash drive, my device flashes the input type and nothing else. normal boot screen works just fine, any help would be appreciated (im forced to use VGA so i hope thats not the problem)
