I love this series because while you’re squirming watching blood and visera all over the place.Tobin Bell pumps the brakes to give a broadway-level performance and really immerses you in his psyche like Hannibal Lector.

That is why John told Xavier and Gus not to use the key,@@BooklikesBFDI. John specifically gave those two a warning, and it was their own fault for not taking it. If you have a key, and there is a locked door in front of you, you will use the key, thinking it will grant you your exit. But John told them to do the opposite for a reason. It won't always work that way. Think of this like a Lobsterpot Trap. (The sneakiest Carnivorous plant in the world.) Similar to the Pitcher Plant, they lure their prey with sweet smelling nectar. But once inside, the arthropods see light shining through the leaves, and travel toward them thinking it is a way out. That is where the trap lies in. Just because you see light, does not make it the end of the tunnel. Plus, John didn't ask for Detective Singh to go after him, did he?

You can tell jigsaw put that blade their on purpose after cutting Hoffman free for him to make a decision afterwards because he knew Hoffman would think about killing him. Every move he makes is planned and calculated it’s insane.

After seeing this, apparently John wanted Hoffman to be his successor though he fails afterwards. We can feel that when both look in the mirror it was just “I see you in me” - cause John have gone through the same things before.

It's so intiguing watching their ideologies crash into each other "He didn't deserve a chance, he was an animal!" "Everybody deserves a chance!" "You didn't see the blood, you didn't see what he fucking did to her!" "Killing is distasteful!" One of them uses the traps for revenge, while the other believes he's doing good by traumatizing or murdering them, not even believing he's committing murder. Two heavily damaged people finding two different, yet same ways to cope

e what makes saw such a interesting movie is that you feel sorry for both of them poor john is depressingly trying to cling on the value that everyone deserves a sceond chance while mark thinks the world is putrid after his only sister is killed im really loooking foward to the emotion tobin bells puts in saw x since that fill will be more of a drama horor than a true slasher

Jigsaw was wrong . Hoffman is a true killer . He showed no mercy getting up close and person with the people who tried to put him away and especially against jigsaws wife . Hoffman is one of the craziest human beings to ever live . He’s all the serial killers you know about wrapped up in one . Someone like Hoffman is who I’d be very afraid of . Someone who’s obsessed with killing you and won’t stop until he does . Only person to meet his match was Doctor Gordon . That guy is a whole other level of crazy .

I always thought Hoffman would have been a much more interesting character if he actually had bought into John's mentality. Instead of him being a crooked cop who just enjoys hurting people, let him have been a good one who has been beaten down by the revolving door justice system and actually embraces the Jigsaw angle completely. Actually wanting to save people, even if in a new twisted way. No unwinable games, keep those strictly for Amanda. Actually giving Strahm a real chance later in the series, because let's be honest, even if Strahm had listened and climbed into that glass coffin, you know Hoffman rigged it somehow to kill him. But if he had been the one true apprentice, that could have made a much more compelling series after John was gone. Especially since the alternative was just big brute who boulders his way through the series.

So I’m confused about John opening the shotgun and seeing a round in the chamber… so does that mean it was supposed to go off when John pulled the trigger?
@mike48931
@mike48931 11 ай бұрын
No it means the second trigger pull would’ve fired a shell. I don’t know much about double barreled shotguns only having a background in semi-automatic rifles and handguns, so I could be wrong, but that seems to be the logic in the context of the movie. Hoffman didn’t just have a choice to turn Jigsaw in, he could kill him too. That’s why that second shell is in there. If he tried to kill John, John would shoot him dead. That’s Hoffman’s game. John opened the chamber just to show the audience the gun was loaded.

What a tremendous scene this was. But why on earth would you do this? Hopefully the reason you did this was to avoid a copyright strike. The music that starts playing when jigsaw leans in to the mirror and says 'im the man you call jigsaw' really made such an amazing scene. More importantly i wanted to hear what people think about jigsaw's tests. In this here scene he says 'if the subjecy survives my test he/she instantly rehabilitates' but in reality i dont recall anyone surviving that came out of his traps normal. Perhaps too many subjects to remember...only one i can think of was that woman who had a sharp iron rod piercing her non-vital body parts to the vital body parts of her husband (when she decided to pull the rods out her husband bled to death) Amanda seemed pretty f'ed up in Saw 3 before she died (apparently so f'ed up that jigsaw decided to her AGAIN which led to her death. Havent watched all the Saw's....but i still cant think of anyone who survived and came out normal, or not all f'ed up.
@fx7105

only one that survived and came out maybe normal, but def the sanest character in the franchise is the lady that cut her arm off. she yelled at the detective right after and later said the best thing that happened to her is handicapped parking at the mall 😂 she didn't but their bullshit at all

Not a fan of all the blood and gore, saw 1 beeing my favorite movie out of all of em though this is the most strong scene after all of saw 1 onwards to saw 5. As i was just thinking saw has gone into literal torture and gore porn the whole franchise stood and fell with this specific scene. Bell is such an amazing actor, jigsaw is such a well written figure and hoffman beeing his dark mirror is awesome. 2 great actors looking for their kind bouncing off of eachother, such great dynamic.
