Great series on voicing. Dave Liebman talks about teaching this technique to an Italian teacher. He said he returned the next year and the teacher had his students playing two octaves on the mouthpiece! I’m guessing this was hyperbole, but an interesting story nonetheless.

Thank you--I'm glad you like it! And two octaves...I'd love to hear it LOL! When I learned this technique from Pat Meighan, he said that a P5 was essential control, and anything larger than that was just gravy.

Steve Becraft just learning the clarinet. I play the flute. I’m older 😂 never played an instrument until I was 49 🤦🏻♀️
