Ch.13 made you proud to be a Baltimorean. As a child like any other I didn't like the news . It stopped me from watching the shows I loved. But my parents used to talk about ch.13 news so much that peaked my entrance. And eventually I fell love Al Sanders and Jerry Turner that was over 45 years ago and I've been watching Eyewitnesses news every since. 🤓❤

This is gonna be a tough one to get. The station still has the New Year's Eve breaking news announcement of Jerry's passing. I believe Denise Koch is who made the announcement live on-air. However, this is one I want to get as well, and if I do I promise to post it. Stay Tuned!

@@saxworkit was Al who did the announcement. Denise did the announcement for when Al passed.

If I recall the initial announcement was a quick break into regularly scheduled network programming sometime in the evening, maybe 8ish, and a tearful Denise Koch made a quick announcement. When the next newscast aired, either later that evening at 11PM or the at 6PM on the 1st, you are right, Al Sanders delivered the news of Jerry's death more completely. That video clip was shown in Al's own tribute after his passing.@@bittyrock
