When we feel overwhelmed, a lot of us task-oriented women tend to focus on all the ways we can organize and manage ALL THE THINGS that we do. What if we need to start though with being ruthless about what things we do and don’t do? Here are 58 surprising things I don’t do anymore!
🙌 NEW HERE? Hey, I’m Diana! I’m a Certified Professional Life Coach for overwhelmed, go-getter Christian women. 🙌 I’ll help you cut out the merely-good things in your life to make space for the VERY BEST things.

There's several I don't do either, nail polish at all or apps like Instagram etc but I do probably spend too much time on FB I rarely take the kids out shopping/errands on my own, that's mainly a sanity andy safety. I often feel lightheaded and I don't want to feel unsafe and trying to get a full cart and gaggle of kids back to the car. We are far from minimalists but I'm trying to be intentional on what we bring home and how we run our home. Xx

A lot of these things, I thought, "Yeah, I don't do that, either." But the one that gave me anxiety is when you said you don't balance your checkbook. 😆 I always think it's interesting to hear what people have decided to cut out and what they have decided to keep in their lives to help manage life in modern times. Thanks for sharing.

This video along with the mom related things you don’t do video are probably two of my very favorite KZfaq videos! These are so helpful for me to think through what I’m doing and why and to cut out some things that I don’t value but never really took time to think about before.

Love the idea of figuring out what things I love and what things I really don’t want or need to do and giving myself permission to say no. I have been simplifying my home recently, it makes sense to simplify my life as well.

I love this! I had to learn to let go of a lot of time wasters when I started minimizing. BUT you lost me at not reading fiction!! 😆 My husband doesn’t read fiction but gets the cliff notes from me!

Haha I WISH I could read fiction! I'm jealous. I was a VORACIOUS fiction reader as a kid but in adulthood, even with the best sellers, I get bored! (Or I'm like "WHHYYYYY do these fiction books so often end up being overly sexual or depressing?" hahaha I actually like YA fiction better!)

Love love love this list! There are some things I still do because it just helps my brain--like meal planning (but it's really just a list of meals that I have the ingredients for within a 2-week period)--but we don't do so many of these things as well. And other things you give me brilliant ideas, like a big roll of brown paper for all gifts... Brilliant! Trendy, cheap, and minimalist! I did have a question though! Since you don't watch TV, what are some evening activities you enjoy instead? I love the idea of reading, but it often puts me to sleep way too early!
@DianaKerr
@DianaKerr 2 жыл бұрын
Trust me, if meals were my responsibility there would be more meal planning. :D But my husband manages to do quite well without a ton of planning! He does put some forethought into it, but there's no list or anything written out. :) I do watch TV sometimes with my husband, for usually just 20-30 minutes if it's during the week (we will take a week or more to get through a movie in tiny chunks haha), but overall I just kind of putter around the house and tie up loose ends/prepare for the next day, relax and wind down while I do my skincare, and once my bedtime alarm goes off at 9, I'm doing any final diabetes things for my 1 year old like giving him a correction dose, and then climbing into bed hopefully by 9:15/9:20 to read for a few minutes with lights out by 9:30! But if we're not watching a little TV, sometimes it's nice to just sit and talk with Kyle for a little bit without kid interruptions, or enjoyed married people time ;), or yes, sometimes I do just read/journal for a while on the couch. I always figure if I'm tired from reading then maybe my body needs the rest and if it's ready to sleep, I should just let it sleep. haha But I know that might not be the case for everyone! You will love the brown kraft paper! Bonus: It's super fun to roll out a big piece on the floor and let your kids color a giant mural or draw a race track or something! :)

I agree with most of what you suggest, and I don't even own a phone, but life without homemade bread would be unfathomable. In fact, as I'm watching this video, I'm making cookies for my grandkids. So baking is one thing I'll keep!
@DianaKerr
@DianaKerr 2 жыл бұрын
Haha Oh man, homemade bread IS seriously SO good! My husband used to make homemade fermented sourdough bread off and on for years, and then when our 1 year old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year, he decided to let that go. There's only so much time and other things were greater priority (not to mention we are all eating less carbs now in our family for Georgie's sake!), but I am SO glad that baking is still a priority to you and the people in your life get to be blessed by it! :) I am certainly blessed to have some generous bakers among my friends and family, which I appreciate! :D

I’m glad this works for you. You seem very cool laid back lovely n knows what’s important to you n your family. I agree with about half of the things you’ve said. I mean life’s not a one fits all lol. I say whatever makes you happy 😊. Vacations/ experiences to me personally is important. I’ll always remember those special moments and seeing the beach for the first time and being with family. Just love it. I enjoyed most of your video. Hope to enjoy more. 🤍🫶🏼
