Yes the handheld market in our days is fully of good ones, I choose the Steam Deck and I'm loving it, is easily my best tech purchase ever. Btw very nice arcades behind you!

thanks for making this vid. i was on the fence about the SD or ROG, but the steam summer discount help make my decision. the ROG was almost much more expensive but can’t really replace a gaming laptop. i already have a 3080 gaming laptop for most of gaming needs but the SD will help fill in for quick gaming sessions.

Good lord dude $700 for a 3080 laptop is Insane. I have good eyesight and even to me the Ally's screen was pretty small; still enjoyable, but small. In fact, it ends up being smaller than the Steam Deck's screen because the Steam Deck has that taller 16:10 aspect ratio and it's rendering games at 800p, so bigger pixels, bigger UI, everything just looks bigger. I basically did the same thing yesterday, I returned my Ally and ordered a mid-range gaming Laptop. For $300 more than the Ally, I'm getting a laptop with a better APU, a dedicated GPU, a bigger and better display, good built in keyboard and track pad, etc. And I could have spent even less and still gotten all of that If I wanted to be frugal. As good as the Ally is, it just doesn't have nearly as much value for your dollar that you get with the Steam Deck.

Hi, I think the ally is better solution because you can carry everywhere and you can have time to play games. A lot of people take xbox, playstation etc but they don't have the time to play the games. We are not kids anymore so we need to use the free time properly, i work in a company i already have a laptop for work but i can't go around with another laptop for gaming. It is insane, also because msi laptops are very big. So i think the Ally is the best option and you can connect eGPU when you are at home. I use my powerbank i can do 4 hours of gaming when i am out. I like the Ally because you can use that even like computer, i can install photoshop, premiere and microsoft office. The steam deck is nice, but the Ally has much more versatility. I like computers and i prefer computer instead of console. I have nintendo switch but not the others. and i am happy because i can do everything with Ally and i can connect everything i have. This is a new world, and i would like to see the future of this portable pc. It is a nice to have a powerfull laptop but the power of them is much lower if you use only the battery and they are huge and you still don't have dedicated gamepad for gaming and even for a fps games you can't play to it with integrated mouse and keyboard. It is not a deal, to use it around. I don't think you laptop is cheaper because with taxes included will be $ 1000 , in Europe for sure more expensive than USA.

I always wonder about these handhelds nowadays. I love playing my Steam Deck I got from Endless. It is a Retro Emulation beast and alot of the steam games I play on it are great. I don't really see the need to buy another handheld since I got a switch as well but its crazy how handhelds are basically turning into PCs nowadays!

I understand exactly what you mean the Allies not working out for some people and some people are just don't want to be patient with it because they want what they pay for and I understand that but the steam deck Once Upon a Time have flaws here and there in the beginning and I was like the only handheld gaming computer that somebody could get right away instead of doing some Indiegogo BS but now the steam deck after updates and it's been a rear that's been out it's awesome it's great so the reason why I'm saying this is because I haven't returned my allies since I pre-ordered it and the only flaw that it has is the hardware issue with the SD card reader where it's placed that but other than that for emulation / cloud gaming bass it's great and like I said to each his own it's could be good to me but not good to others so I say if you have a steam deck stick with it because it's still a great product the great device and if the Ally doesn't work out for some people than just get rid of it return it if you still can get your money back or sell it whatever you want to do you know but good video

You can’t call it the best handheld and get rid of it. That’s kind of dumb.
