Until I served as an acolyte in our nearest parish and became part of our campus ministry, I never knew how hard priests work every day. I was totally blown away, humbled, and lost in admiration. Priests have to be supermen and only due to the power of Christ can they succeed.

I grew-up a marine corps brat, so we moved a lot. Saying goodbye is always sad, but it was always followed by an excitement. "Who was my best friend going to be at this new state?" I look back at all the friends I would not have ever had the chance to know, love, and learn from if I had never had to say goodbye. Thankfully, I was able to keep the friends I left behind, but saying goodbye is still always hard. I pray you meet some great friends at your new parish!

Came back to see this video again, it still has the same effect on me . . . I broke down and cried towards the end. You could never ask for a more compassionate, joyful, God fearing Priest in love with Our Lord than Father David Michael. The pandemic/shutdown stole so much. Time is short and you can’t get back what’s already slipped away. He will always be missed, he was so impactful on my life. I regret I couldn’t be there to say goodbye. Bless you for laying down your life, Father. Always missed, always treasured.
