I'm American with Spanish origins was raised in English and Spanish but for some reason I am not fluent in it i can't write, reading maybe a few easy words..i suck at speaking it the only thing I can do fairly good is understand it as long as it's not too complicated or not speaking too fast and I'm also learning German..i think I understand German better than Spanish in some areas and i just got interested in Russian language it's pretty cool that before i couldn't even name the letters or sounds of the Cyrillic alphabet and now when I get on KZfaq I'll see Russian titles and i can actually read and understand some of them 😀💯

I have been trying to learn Russian for yearssss. I use the apps I try to engage with native speakers not always successful but some, I learned the Russian alphabet in about 3 weeks it's not perfect but it is understandable i had some native speakers say it was good while others told me to stop i sounded stupid.. ever since then I've been afraid to speak it outside of comfortable short phrases or using the apps repeating the words and writing them down etc.. I'm not giving up but I definitely need some help 🙏 I enjoy your content very much i hope to be able to join the camp sometime when i can afford it. The holidays money is tight but soon i definitely see myself participating in the camp.

This will be "я не умею говороитЬ по-русски"
@CarlosPinaLopez2 жыл бұрын
@@Forelka902 Thanks for the answer! The thing is that I had heard similarly constructed sentences before (I'm thinking about "Я, играть в шахматы, не умею") and I found some kind of beauty in that word order, so that's what I was trying to ask. Maybe it depends on the context?
@Forelka9022 жыл бұрын
@@CarlosPinaLopez no it's form of word. Говорит - говорить Играет - играть Слушает - слушать Смотрит - смотреть Рисует - рисовать

this is one of the forms of inversion in russian language, any russian will understand you if you say so, but if you like the reverse word order, then the more correct form would be "по-русски говорить я не умею"

I don't think I would ever say Английский, пожалуйста because to me, it's a very rude thing to say to a Russian citizen. I prefer to at least try speaking Russian first, then, if the listener feels sorry for me and speaks English in return, that's better, IMO.
