Andrew and Laura are good friends and he wants to take it further. Abuse can come from a close friend but you never owe anyone sex, or even a change in relationship that you don't want.

A good friend, a REAL friend, would notice you're uncomfortable. A REAL friend would understand when you say "we're just friends". Not get mad or angry when you say no. Edit: what the hell happened here
@VirginiaDowdy7778213 жыл бұрын
My friend didn't notice... He groped me for two years straight and was encouraged to do so by some jerks he hung out with at the time... 😞 Edit: Okay, so I see some people questioning me, so I'll go more into detail: I did try to stand up for myself, multiple times, it all started in 5th grade and whenever he groped me, I would run after him and attack him. He thought it was funny to make me angry to the point I was violent because he thought it was 'cute.' I even started bullying him in an effort to make him stop. However, no matter what I did, the teachers always took his side and I got into trouble (FYI: they never witnessed him doing it). I even opened up to my friends about it, however they always excused his behavior because "groping people was a guy thing. It's just what guys do." I started to feel hopeless, like nobody could help me. Then, I finally opened up to my parents about it and they were PISSED, they didn't allow him to come over for a long, long time. Then, after he stopped doing it, he and his sister tried to gaslight me by trying to convince me it wasn't him who did it, it never happened, and my mind was just making me think it was him. They gaslit me about almost every single shitty thing I remember them doing. I questioned my own sanity for a very long time. He died last year and I recently dropped his sister. I finally found the strength to realize I don't need these toxic people in my life, even if it means loosing my friend group. Edit: I forgot to also mention I was forced to live with my religious grandma, who was emotionally abusive and if I didn't behave a certain way, she threatened to take me and my little brothers away from our parents or take our dad away. So, it was very hard opening up to her about anything and I'd get scared to tell her certain things because she'd go off. I was also being abused and bullied by other kids and I reported about what they were doing to me, however nothing came of it. They didn't do anything about it either. The principal also had stuff against my family because of something my great grandma did, so I suppose that played a role as to nothing was done about the bullying or my friend. So, when we entered middle school, I had the mindset that the adult school authorities just didn't care enough to do anything about it. My friend was a part of a gang (the boys encouraging him were part of that gang) and whenever I stood up for myself (verbally or physically) all they did was laugh and continued doing it. By the time we got into middle school, I was living with my parents, but I still had the mindset I did while living with my grandma, despite my parents being loving, kind and understanding, so it did take me a while to open up. He also stopped touching me once he left the gang he was a part of and actually became a better person, in the sense he no longer touched women without their consent, not in the sense that he gaslit me constantly.

Thankfully, I told my mom about it, and she really supported me. He apologized to me, saying that he was a weirdo and feels bad about it. I forgave him, but I am not going to talk to him anymore. Man that hit a lot too close to home So apparently I made this comment over a year ago. To explain, I was exposed by a guy who I thought was my friend when I was 16 going on 17, he was 19, knew him for about a year and a half. I was already going through crap, and we were video chatting. That Monday, my friends told me my pic (that I didn't even know he took) was going around in the period before. After that, I had a depressive episode for about two months. My main regret was not seeing the signs and not asking for help instead of just venting. There were times when we'd talk on the phone and he said or showed something that made me uncomfortable, with our mutual friends laughing the background because they thought I was fine with it. I wasn't. He got mad when I called him a creep, and I didn't want to lose a "friend", so I tried to joke along. Please, try to speak up for yourselves. And if your "friend" gets mad at you for having boundaries, they are not your friend. Cut them out however you can. Also, it can hurt, believe me. But with time and support, it can be easier to bear. Lean on those who love you.

Here's my story with a situation similar to this -- you are not alone guys!! There was this one male friend I knew in school. He was nice, extraverted, friendly, and we would always joke around in class. I felt especially more comfortable around him because I was a bit more introverted, and he knew how to make conversations flow and be funny. One day, we had that class after lunch, and I brought a banana with me to class. This day he was acting so weird, something I've never seen from him before. All of his jokes were really sexual and I was feeling uncomfortable, but I was laughing anyway because I felt I would make it weird if I didn't. He took my banana and put it in his lap and was fake masturbating with it under the classroom table while looking at me (in my school, the classroom had one oval table all the students would sit around). He kept asking me to look at him when he was doing it. Anytime I looked away, he would stop doing it, and would ask me to look again at his lap under the table to him fake jacking-off. I continued fake laughing because I felt uncomfortable. After him doing this multiple times, I said in a half-joking, half-serious way, "You are being weird". But he responded by saying, "Am I?" in an amusing tone and kept doing it. Then he look the banana and rubbed it against my upper thigh under the table. I immediately stopped him and put the banana on top of the table. Because I was really uncomfortable, I laughed even harder and buried my hands in my face. This caught the attention of the teacher (who by the way was teaching the entire time this was going on). She asked "what's going on over there?" and he just responded, "(my name)'s banana". At the time, I blamed myself for this happening because I was laughing at it like I was inviting him to do it. In reality, a man should know boundaries and you are NEVER to blame. You are not weird or a buzzkill for speaking up when you feel uncomfortable! Let's love ourselves and give ourselves the respect we deserve!!! love you guys

As an animator, I clicked this expecting a cheesey, overly-dramatic PSA, but this was actually really well done. The storytelling (even the fourth-wall break) feels realistic/natural, and the animation and art style is pro-level. I hope teens get to watch stuff like this in schools. Great message executed in a professional and interesting way. 10/10
